Ever wished for a fishing tool that not only has brains but also brawn? ???? + ??♀? While a conventional mechanical fishing tool will typically have no more than 65 lbs of grapple engagement force available, HIROS allows user-specified settings up to 13,000 lbs. Furthermore, a bi-directional push/pull force of up to 100,000 lbs is available once the fish is latched, delivered via an independent stroker/actuation section of the tool. During the engagement process with the fish, the overshot/spear measures the dimensions of its target, recognizing a successful latch. Excellent fishing technique

Insightful data as we head into ICAST this week. As an advocate for the OEM segment and supporting so many different brands, I’m always curious how we as organizations respond effectively to the growth of fishing participation. Our industry as a whole has witnessed so much volitility in the last few years. Covid made us slow down, get outside and fishing was an outlet for experienced and new anglers alike. This brought supply chain challenges from the increased participation of all demographics. No one was prepared for this growth. This was then balanced by adjusting back to “business as usual.” The industry had to navigate quickly to over inventoried supply. Now the economy, the election year and whatever 2024 has in store for us leave us all guessing how recreational fishing will level out to a “normalcy” we can all prepare for. Above all else, it is exciting to see participation growth in demographics that need more representation. In such a divided time, nothing brings us closer together than a memorable day on the water…
