Last week I had the opportunity to moderate a fantastic panel discussion with Rosie McWhorter, CAMS, CFE, CFCS, CRC, Kasra Zamani, and Mahesh Muthu, hosted by the ACAMS Central Texas Chapter . The crypto industry is rapidly evolving, and so are the challenges it presents in terms of AML and KYC compliance. We delved into these issues, discussing the unique hurdles faced by crypto firms in identifying AML risks. To address these challenges, we explored how industry players are adapting by adopting best practices, leveraging innovative technologies, upskilling people, and fostering collaboration with regulators to create a robust and compliant ecosystem. It was a great opportunity to learn from experts and gain insights into the future of compliance in the crypto space. #AML #KYC #Crypto #Fintech #Compliance #eClerx #ACAMS
Our panelists brought it last night! Thank you to our amazing sponsor eClerx, our talented and world class industry leaders as panelists, beautiful venue (check out that Texas star lighting)! We loved seeing so many of our members attending last night from all over Texas; many new faces as well. Welcome!

As a Black woman-owned creative agency, we understand that opportunity can transform vision into impact. The NAACP announcement of a $200M fund to support Black businesses isn't just news - it's a milestone in creating real pathways for talent to thrive. For over 17 years, Seaberry Design & Communications has been breaking barriers in the creative industry. Every project we deliver, every brand we transform, and every story we tell proves what's possible when talent meets opportunity. We've grown from a small design studio to a full-service creative powerhouse, serving organizations from nonprofits to government agencies. But we know many other Black-owned businesses haven't had the same chances to showcase their expertise. This initiative could change that narrative. Because when Black businesses grow: -Communities thrive -Innovation flourishes -Excellence multiplies Here's to supporting the next generation of Black business leaders. Want to learn more about partnering with a Black woman-owned creative agency? Let's talk. #BlackOwnedBusiness #WomanOwned #CreativeAgency #EconomicJustice #DCBusiness
The NAACP launched a $200 million Capital Fund to support Black businesses, aiming to close the racial wealth gap and address the funding barriers Black entrepreneurs face. This initiative, part of a broader reparative economic justice effort, will provide capital, mentorship, and resources to foster sustainable growth for Black-owned businesses. NAACP President Derrick Johnson emphasizes that impact investing can reshape the economy, benefiting both Black entrepreneurs and the broader U.S. economy. https://lnkd.in/gdX3d3rx

We asked the executives of the past administration (USF 3.0) two key questions about their journey, and their response was truly heartwarming. Their growth, though rocky at first, became a sight to behold by the end. Here are the questions we asked: 1. What challenges did you face at the start of your role, and how did you overcome them? 2. What is one significant way USF contributed to your personal or professional growth? Today, we’re spotlighting the Co-convener of USF 3.0, Scholar Fahidat. Their answers, featured on the flyer, reflect resilience, determination, and the impact of their role on their journey. Be sure to check out their story and gain insight into how they overcame challenges and grew personally and professionally through their time at USF. Fired Up, Ready to Go!

So proud of Carina for taking on leadership positions at every opportunity.
As we enter a new semester here at Florida State University, I’d like to take the time to reflect on this past fall with Pi Sigma Epsilon - Delta Lambda. This past semester, I had the honor of being Director of General Membership Retention, working closely with our past VP of Administration, Lilly Seidman. In addition, I’d like to thank our entire Fall 2024 executive board for their tireless work and dedication: Helene Lobree, Natalie Hauser, Mitchell Shpiruk, Cooper Dano, Lilly Seidman, and Claire Kuzmits. Thanks to this amazing group of individuals, we were able to recruit our largest class of new members to date. In addition, I’d like to announce my recent election as our Spring/Fall 2025 VP of Administration. I am overjoyed to continue working to grow our chapter alongside the entire Spring 2025 executive board: Grace Goodwin, Natalia Castillo, Will Godfrey, Sam Garcia, Emily Schneider, and Kristen Rembisz.

The true value of networking doesn't come from how many people we can meet but rather how many people we can introduce to others.Know where you want to go and make sure the right people know about it. #investors #koevbrothers #venturecapital #entrepreneurship
Connecting with fellow alumni from VMI, West Point, Annapolis, AFA. is always a treat as who else is going to relate to Saturday Morning Inspections while at other colleges they’re watching MTV and talking about their “feelings.” Wonderful to say “Dravo” to fellow Bulgarian- American Sotti Koev USNA’05 who has a small but growing private equity firm with his brother. Thank you to Strategic Insight for hosting.

WHY IT MATTERS
Founder & Executive Director, Worldwide Group Travel & Events Creator & Executive Producer, Jamaica Fit Trip
So great attending MTI's 25th birthday celebration! I had the pleasure of running into Susan Ruhlin, who holds a special place in the journey of Black Travel Maine. Susan was my very first conversation that sparked the idea, and from day one, she immediately saw my vision and wanted to help bring it to life. Starting out with the Dirigo Labs Accelerator was such a pivotal step, and I couldn’t have done it without the early support and encouragement from Susan and the amazing programs she leads. It was wonderful catching up and hearing all the excitement around the growing business accelerator initiatives she’s championing. I’m forever grateful for the impact and inspiration she’s had on my journey. Thank you, Susan! #MTI25 #BlackTravelMaine #DirigoLabs #ForeverGrateful #mainetechnologyinstitute
