But let's learn from a brother who took the plunge nearly 20 years ago, turning his business fully virtual. Buckle up, it's a true rollercoaster tale. ?? Flashback to the mid-2000s. Our entrepreneur was faced with an underused office and the loss of a partner. The decision? Shut down the physical space, go remote—all in the name of cost-cutting and flexibility. At first, it seemed right—employees were already on the move. Fast forward, though, and cracks appeared. What he thought was an agile move turned his company into what he calls "the most dysfunctional company in the country." Tough words, right? In a profession that in connected to the ways people work, How do we adapt when our entire profession is redefined overnight? Seths blog got me thinking about this a few days ago. When the pandemic hit, for many of us the way we work was completely redefined. That meant there was a need for creating new solutions and changing the way our industry worked overnight. It’s not happening overnight but our industry is being redefined in real time. To insert a phrase from Dave Cairns in Seth’s blog entry “office used to be the default.” That’s Changed: ??Our tools are getting better. ??Teams are creating new processes. ??New models are emerging.
