Happy Zomi Nam Ni (Zomi National Day)! February 20 is observed as a day of deliverance, love, peace, unity, political retrospection, and remembrance of Zomi history. This day is observed to commemorate the end of colonialism and imperialism, to mark the liberation of Zoland, and signifies the installation of sovereign self-rule. It is also a national integration day for all of the Zo Community of India and Myanmar and is celebrated with great elation every year in every part of the globe where the Zomi have settled. Zomi families around the world and here in Tulsa, OK honor their heritage, language and culture with celebrations that showcase Zomi dances, songs, food, and traditions.
