Check out our newest blog post - the residential solar panel industry is in trouble, which could be bad news for homeowners who have leased solar systems on their homes. I suppose I could have also titled this post "Why Your Realtor Hates Your Leased Solar System" :) https://lnkd.in/gdg7kW4v

As states begin to deliver Home Energy Rebate programs, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) expects more states to contract with implementation companies to provide the services needed. To do so, most states will need to go through competitive solicitation, which includes a Request for Proposals (RFP). The SCEP office has released RFP guidance for the Home Efficiency Rebates, new program implementation documents, updated FAQs,?and more in their recent bulletin. https://lnkd.in/gVRW4ZmF

Illinois residents this is for you! Solar panels are one of the only home improvement projects that literally will pay for itself and then pay you a return similar to S@P 500 index funds. (8-10%) So why throw away money to a utility company when you can actually earn a return on investment and increase the property value of your home. Illinois voted recently to go away with net metering: and net metering is when Ameren or Com Ed will pay you the same amount you pay them for any electricity your panels over-produce. Some Illinois residents can receive up to 50% of the system PAID FOR by the government. This net metering is going away soon! Who would not want their electricity company to OWE them money? I've found it can be challenging to explain Pearl. How we complement (not compete) with other home certifications and scores. How we support the entire value chain from quality contractors to real estate agents to competent appraisers. And most importantly, how we educate and engage homeowners to support them on their journey to a higher-performing home, wherever they are on that journey. I'm especially pleased when an article like this one helps tell that story much better than I can! #qualitycontractors #markettransformation #highperforminghomes #consumerinsights
“It’s valuable for contractors to invest [in the Pearl Network] because they know they can get better leads and relationships, and return business. Customers benefit because they have access to somebody who can help them through a confusing process and not be stuck with just a guy and a truck.” — Jennifer Amann, Buildings Program Director, The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) Check out the latest article from Energy News Network and written by Elizabeth H. McGowan to learn more about what Pearl has to offer to HVAC and solar contractors! https://lnkd.in/gvd3ir5y #HVACcontractors #SolarContractors #JoinThePearlNetwork

TPO (Third-Party Ownership) is becoming an increasingly popular way for homeowners to go solar while harnessing the power of the sun ? While there are pros and cons to TPO (Lease/PPA) programs, it's important to do your due diligence & fairly weigh out purchase options, too! ?
