Communities around the #SaltonSea have shared their needs and have helped us identify opportunities to address them through the restoration projects led by the Salton Sea Management Program. The SSMP and Community Needs Report and the Salton Sea Community Needs and Recommended Actions Report are now finalized! Read the report: https://lnkd.in/gAgcxqnD
From my experiance and engagement with the communities around the sea most would prefer a restore sea to hay bail dust rows. Full Restoration provides more opportunities for recreation, habitat and upper elevation water storage and at a cost of 1 billion we could be there already. Happy to share more Agess, Inc - Tres Mares Restoration Plan. https://youtu.be/9IR4NQxkYSw?si=cY4q_b2zB66qHRWT
Nice work!

4 周This is so important. As a Student Conservation Association volunteer with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in the early 90s, I was deployed to the Salton Sea to help deal with a massive bird die-off triggered by water pollution. It was an experience seared into my heart. The Saltton Sea is a vital natural resource and it is encouraging seeing California Natural Resources Agency driving the next generation of conservation and restoration actions there. ??
