Onboarding is more than just an airport pick-up and a?team photo—it's the foundation for success. Welcoming new team members effectively at DGPS is crucial in setting the tone for their journey within the organisation. A strong onboarding process helps our new staff feel valued, connected, and confident from day one. When new staff understand their role and how they contribute to #learningtogethergrowingtogether and the bigger DGPS picture, they’re already engaged and motivated and feel supported and appreciated. Clear expectations and early guidance enable new staff to hit the ground running, leading to quicker and more impactful teaching and learning. It is the perfect opportunity to immerse new teachers and staff in the school's culture, ensuring they feel a sense of belonging. Onboarding isn’t just a one-time event—it’s an ongoing process that fosters growth, learning, and connection. It’s my first time attending NARUC, and this session was a standout, "Gaining Headroom on the Grid: Leveraging the Demand Side to Accommodate New Loads Now." It was one of the few focused on how demand-side resources can affordably and cleanly manage capacity amid growing demand. ? Key takeaway was that load growth is not uniform—it’s dynamic and location-specific. This highlights the need for customized solutions that prioritize the time and location of demand flexibility based on the specific customer type. It’s clear that integrating demand flexibility into our grid systems is essential as we tackle the complexities of new loads and a changing grid. ? #NARUCAnnual24 #VPPs #DemandFlexibility
