Hello Cyber Explorers, and LinkedIn Colleagues, Just back from the AFCEA International Rocky Mountain Chapter Cyberspace Symposium in the beautiful city of Colorado Springs... and wow, what an experience! It was a blast connecting with current and former L3Harris Technologies peers like Jon Walsh and Noel Tetreault, building new relationships with amazing cybersecurity professionals, diving into hands-on labs, and getting inspired by the latest tech talks and vendor demonstrations. One of the coolest parts? Watching high schoolers tackle robotic challenges on opening day. These kids are the future of tech, and they've got skills! shout out to Pikes Peak Robotics and Deloitte. A key takeaway from the event was Brig. Gen. Devin Pepper's talk on the Space Force's cyber ambitions. The goal? To beef up their cyber squadrons with help from the tech industry and make sure the U.S. stays a step ahead in space security. It’s a big task, but with the right minds and tech, it’s totally doable. This symposium wasn't just educational; it was a reminder of the fun and innovation at the heart of cybersecurity and space exploration. Join the PhD Day to discuss with them at poster sessions! ???Gabriele Gatti: Automatic Analysis of Cybersecurity Risks The research aims at developing methodologies for the collection and evaluation of cyber risk related information so that companies with low technical skills and resources can understand their exposure to cyber threats. The research started with the development of an automated system that can collect publicly available information, assign it a score and aggregate these evaluations into summarizing indexes for ease of comprehension. Three researchers in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering at Arizona State University have received grant awards under the Defense Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research, or DEPSCoR, from the U.S. Department of Defense. As part of the program, the U.S. DOD awarded $17.6 million to 27 academic teams to pursue engineering research relevant to the nation’s science and technology missions. ASU was one of only three universities to receive multiple awards. Adil Ahmad, Rakibul Hasan and Nakul Gopalan, faculty members in the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence, part of the Fulton Schools, will each receive up to $600,000 over a three-year period to pursue research in cybersecurity, cyber deception and artificial intelligence solutions in robotics. https://lnkd.in/gwUWPx7X #ASUResearch #Cybersecurity #ArtificialIntelligence

On the one hand, I focus on solutions to automatically allocate and configure appropriate security mechanisms to protect a CPS.
