Key legislative battles are expected over the state budget, ultra-Orthodox military service exemptions, civil rights, and a possible revival of judicial overhaul efforts. Focus on Hamas War Crimes?(Jennifer Rubin, The Washington Post) The Israel Defense Forces' daring operation that rescued four Israeli hostages held for more than eight months provided new context for the war. Hamas committed war crimes on Oct. 7 by killing, raping and abducting civilians. It has continued to commit war crimes by holding civilians hostage and, again, by treating them inhumanely. And in making military targets of civilian homes by turning them into hostage cells, Hamas has again committed war crimes. Any civilian death is regrettable, but in this scenario, Hamas is solely responsible for the casualties resulting from the rescue mission. ?? To the extent civilians become participants - including hostage-holding - they lose the protection of international law. Hamas has committed a grave legal and moral wrong in erasing the line between civilians and combatants. Hamas wants more civilians to die. It's incumbent on Israel's harshest critics to dissociate themselves from Hamas enablers and antisemites. If not, they have no claim to the moral high ground. https://lnkd.in/eFy5ED4u

“Give Israel the weapon it needs to fight the war it cannot afford to lose” Senator Graham. The war Israel is fighting is Hiroshima and Nagasaki on steroids. The war on Hamas, Hizballah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad and the Iranian Regime is a fight of all the West must take a clear stand on; it’s a core threat to their own security interests & democratic principles. In the past few months, we have seen the escalation of “Globalizing the Intifada”. Dar Al Islam Dar Al Harb - Islamic governance is either in place, or it will be put in place by jihadist tactics. * By resource (money, NGO’s work) * By the tongue (preeching, politics, spreading through one by one) * By the sword (by violence) * cultural & social influence * Migration and settlement Israel is fighting a war that takes place - In the media - The legal war - on the ground And global influence; for a new world order by Islam (Globalizing the Intifada). The importance of backing Israel in this time cannot be understated.

PDF: https://lnkd.in/gqYS-zbE In this comparatively short Article, I have noted popular concerns about polls relating to a military coup, and noted the ways in which such a military takeover can occur. I have also surveyed the various ways in which the United States Constitution, and American political culture, make the likelihood of a military coup (a successful one, at least) smaller than in many other countries. My goal is not to convince readers that the United States teeters on the brink of such a takeover now. Despite election-year hyperbole, I do not think a military coup looms large in America’s future. But should that ever cease to be the case, and should such an event become likely in the near future, then it will be too late for law review articles to do any good. One does not take up jogging, or statins, because one fears having a heart attack tomorrow; rather, those are low-cost remedies taken to reduce the risk of a major problem in the indefinite, possibly distant future. To really understand the Israel-Palestine conflict, one must put themselves in the shoes of a Palestinian refugee (most of the people in Gaza). What would you do if someone stole your house & livelihood, killed some of your family, & left the rest of you with nothing to live in the squalor of a refugee camp? That is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, over 250,000 since then, & MORE EVERY YEAR – simply because they are not Jewish. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes & farms where Israeli cities & towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Most even still have their front door keys. Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, & a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005 - both illegal under international law, immoral, & ongoing acts of war. Israel-Gaza war: Hamas responds to ceasefire offer with 135-day truce plan. Hamas has laid out a series of demands, including exchanging hostages for Palestinian prisoners and rebuilding Gaza, in response to an Israel-backed ceasefire proposal. The armed group wants a full withdrawal of Israeli forces and an end to the war after three 45-day truce phases. If this is as transparent as I hope, it’ll be important for veterans and the general public to watch. It will hopefully provide a critical opportunity to understand the comprehensive review of the Afghanistan war. For veterans, it is a chance to see how our service and sacrifices are being acknowledged and addressed in shaping future policies. For the general public, I hope it offers transparency and insight into the decision-making processes that affect national security and veteran affairs, fostering an informed and engaged citizenry.
