An amazing experience! Launching a business can feel like a monumental effort just to get that first sale, let alone grow. What would happen if you dedicated 10-weeks to focus on the fundamentals need to launch and move forward? What would happen if you joined a community of like-minded veteran and military spouse entrepreneurs also working to take the next big step to launch a business. When you join Bunker Labs Veterans in Residence (ViR), you have more than an entrepreneurial endeavor in common—you have a common ethos, shaped by a common experience. Hit the ground running with a community that never gives up, no matter the challenge.

In the mid-1800s, the United States expanded westward, encountering the recently independent nation of Mexico. In an effort to boost its economy, Mexico began renting out large tracts of land to American settlers, who, in turn, brought slaves—illegal in Mexico. This caused tension, leading to rebellion in Texas, which declared independence and was later annexed by the U.S. Key figures like Santa Anna, the Mexican general, and Davy Crockett, the American frontiersman, played pivotal roles in the Texas Revolution. Sam Houston, the leader of the Texian army, is often credited for defeating Santa Anna, but it was actually the clever strategy of Emily Morgan, known as the Yellow Rose of Texas, who helped lead Houston’s forces to victory. Acting as a Texian spy, she kept Santa Anna “occupied” ?? and distracted before the attack, leaving crucial clues that ultimately led to his capture. According to historical accounts, the reason Antonio López de Santa Anna was not executed immediately after being captured at the Battle of San Jacinto is because he was a Freemason. Reportedly, he gave Masonic signs to his captors, including General Sam Houston, who was also a Mason, essentially appealing to a shared brotherhood to spare his life. Santa Anna, known for his ruthlessness as a killer and oppressor, was spared, but his actions during the war remain a dark part of history. President James Polk, eager to expand further, offered Mexico $25 million for California. When Mexico rejected the offer, Polk sent American soldiers into a disputed Texas region. After a skirmish, Congress declared war, and the U.S., with its superior military power, quickly defeated Mexico. In exchange for $15 million, Mexico ceded vast territories, including California and Texas. In less than 20 years, Mexico lost over half of its land to the United States—a pivotal moment in history that reshaped both nations. #TexasRevolution #MexicanAmericanWar #SantaAnna #SamHouston #YellowRoseOfTexas #EmilyMorgan #DavyCrockett #ManifestDestiny #Polk #CaliforniaGoldRush #HistoryMatters #TerritorialExpansion

#BookReview Freedom’s Forge by Arthur Herman. This is a terrific, terrific book. It is genuinely fascinating. Herman discusses the industrial efforts behind the US’s incredible military hardware production in WWII. It is part economics, part Tom Clancy-esk military history and part innovation tale. The book won’t be for everyone; but its lessons are. When the economy needs to gear up for a Herculean challenge, articulating the task squarely, respecting the tradeoffs and thinking deeply about how to get the best of capitalism to solve it, will take you far. (Climate or housing anyone?). It also has some pearls of wisdom: “progress is only made when fear is overcome by curiosity…if you are curious enough, you will not have any fear”.

In the next 50-100 years, we might all be micro-entrepreneurs, reversing the trends of the industrial age. Naval Ravikant nails it: no matter how wealthy you are, if someone tells you when to work and how to behave, you’re not truly free. ? Real freedom is autonomy. ? Real success is self-direction. Do you agree with Naval's vision of the future? PS. check out ?? for a winning pitch deck the template created by Silicon Valley legend, Peter Thiel https://lnkd.in/ejp-Bhnu

I highly rate Jeffrey Sachs. So, this was an education for me. It is interesting to hear Sachs' view on the Kennedy assassination. His conclusion is the same one I reached by analysing the evidence of cover ups here in Australia - https://lnkd.in/e3uDFDiS . Sachs' explanation of what happened after the breakup of the Soviet Union is also my understanding of what happened. Basically, a bunch of crooks in the USA exploited the situation then falsely claimed credit for the defeat of the Soviet Union. When in truth, it was caused by the isolation after the USA partnered with China. And the reason why the USA was able to partner with China is because of the work my ancestors invested in support for China (including Taiwan), including for about a hundred years before the rise to power of the Chinese Communist Party, which is currently a national security secret. Check out the above link for the detailed evidence that supports this fact. https://lnkd.in/eV8m2r9K

I'm also getting some scroll through for the American Dynamism Fund. https://lnkd.in/gRr-rkq9 I think this is going to be a total disaster. The goal is to get rid of the dysfunctions of the American defense industry through Silicon Valley thinking, but I think the actual result is going to make Silicon Valley as dysfunctional as the defense industry. https://lnkd.in/gsEGAWGX

2025. We are shaking it up. John and Elisah take to the road in February to start the #FreedomTour2025. The reasons? 1. When you believe something, do it: FDG believes manufacturers in the defense industry are vital to the success of our country's military. They are to be respected and honored. We value our relationships with them. So FDG is going to them - see their operations, understand who they are, grow relationships. 2. When you speak it, be it: FDG believes our greatest value is digging into military and government problem areas of mission-critical needs. We build trust with our customers so they rely on our team for their most difficult requirements. Trust is achieved by being the person you say you are - show it. We are relentless in achieving mission success. 3. When it's time to fly, we live it: FDG lives by example. Leaders show the way, they don't speak it from behind comfort. John and Elisah will be traveling with their two children, Charlotte (8) and Eli (6), now homeschooled, to visit manufacturers, customers, and defense partners throughout the country in 2025. They will be traveling by Class A RV, living on the road in simplicity to think creatively. This grassroots approach is how they started FDG and how they plan to grow FDG with big plans on the horizon. You can follow along and add to the route. FDG's website will have a new section, FREEDOM TIMES, showing an interactive map of the McGee's route, a comment section to request a visit, and a blog sharing weekly vision and thoughts. Social media will show behind-the-scenes shots. 2025. Live it! #teamfdg #freedomtimesusa #growth John McGee Elisah McGee Nicholas Lafferty Brittany Bradley, CPA Jon Puckett John Sims
