?? Sometimes you have to say no, so you can say yes!
French wine regions, here we come!
We’re headed from Rennes to Avignon today via Clermont-Ferand, and my sommelier husband is just plain giddy.
?? He’s also letting out a lamenting sigh as we pass through the Loir Valley, home to Vouray, Sancerre, Chinon, Savennières, and so many other amazing wine regions we are NOT visiting.
We may be mourning the vineyards we miss, but the decision to drive past is a conscious one.
???? Time forced us to say no to the Lour so we could say yes to the Rh?ne!
No is a hard word for many to use, bits it’s a powerful one because saying no to one thing may mean you get to say yes to another (better) thing.
??Just like choosing not to stop at every winery, turning down a decent client offer makes room for the ideal ones. It’s about alignment, not just opportunity.
??By not committing to every vineyard along the way, we keep our schedule—and our palates—open for the experiences we’ve prioritized, like the Rh?ne Valley. Business or wine consumption, few of us live in a world of endless resources.
?? FOMO might be real but trusting that you made the best decision helps curb it - and trusting that the best is yet to come allows us to pass on the immediate in favor of the impactful.
At least we have crepes for the road trip! ??
?? What have you recently said ‘no’ to, and what are you hoping it brings into your life?
