Home Office: 5 tipps on how to stay motivated and productive

Given the current challenging situation the majority of my teams are working from home. Some of us at Pulse in full isolation due to government regulations (e.g. our Milan team) many others have chosen to voluntarily self-isolate to reduce the spread of the virus.
I am sure many of you are facing similar scenarios with your teams, hence I wanted to quickly share some of the little #pulsepower tipps and tricks, which are helping us keep the spirits high, create a feeling of unity even when apart and allowing us to remain as productive as ever:
- Keep your routine: If you normally get up at 6.30 every morning, get up at 06.30 now. As you save time commuting to work use that time to wake up your body and mind: work out, read a book, take an extra long shower, meditate.
- Get dressed: Make sure to get dressed and styled same as you would for the office. As trivial as it sounds, this will help get you ready for the day. No shower, no make up and a track suit might be convenient, but this is not a time to feel convenient, but empowered and motivated, hence get dressed!
- Set up a work station: Find a place in your home that you can assign to be your designated work place (even if this is simply a different chair around your dining room table). This will help you focus and put you in the right mind set when sitting down. If you have the luxury, bring your desktop computer home as this makes working easier.
- Set up mandatory video calls for your team. This will help structure everyones days and reinforce the team spirit. Seeing everyones face will soon become the highlight of your day.
- Set up non-work focussed meetings: We have introduced daily virtual-coffees (and in Italy aperitivos) where the focus is to not talk about work, but to mock the little human-to-human conversations we would usually have in a ?normal“ office day, helping us lift the spirit and strengthen our bond.
What tipps do you have? Would love to hear. #PULSEPOWER
