When aiming for the perfect batch of wine, high quality raw materials are key, but so is reliable equipment. This is where our Flottweg centrifugal decanters come into discussion. They play a crucial role in the industrial #beverageindustry, efficiently and consistently separating solids from liquids in the wine clarification process to ensure the highest levels of product quality, purity, and consistency. How do these #decanters work? The process involves using centrifugal force to accelerate the separation of solid and liquid phases. Due to its higher density, the solid phase (sediment) is driven outward to the bowl's wall. A transport scroll then continuously moves this solid sediment to the outlet openings for disposal. Meanwhile, the clarified liquid flows along the scroll and is collected separately. This efficient separation process helps maintain the integrity and clarity of beverages, enhancing the taste and consistency of wine, juice, and other liquid products. Want to learn more about how our decanters can enhance your production process? Visit our website https://lnkd.in/daB7U9gQ? #Consultech #Flottweg #CentrifugalDecanters #WineClarification

?? Do beers with older crop-year hops taste like piss? ?? Does beer with newer crop-year hops always knock it out of the park? ? ?? My answer, in case you were asking, is not necessarily! In 10 years of brewing, there were so many times during dry hopping, when I would smell the hops and think (knowing myself, I was probably also very vocal about it) “The previous crop was much better, more citrusy or just the best handful of hops I have ever smelt in my life” I am sure it’s happened to you at least once in your brewing career! ? But then why are we so easily influenced by the crop year when it’s time to buy our hops? You might think “Because I want the freshest hops in my beers”. No, my friend, you want the newer stuff! That’s it! Is newer necessarily better? This article by Cat Wiest on the YCH blog?clearly explains a much more important value to pay attention to - the Hop Storage Index (HSI) - which tells you the durability of alpha acids. If the hops are stored cold, as all the hops on Brewing Trade are for example (sorry, couldn’t resist!) older years could be better than newer, or just as good BUT cheaper! Best packaging ever! Have you heard of waterglassing? It's a process that can keep freshly laid eggs, that aren't washed, fresh for up to 18 months at room temperature! The best part? All you need is a glass jar, water, and pickling lime. Now, I know this idea might be polarizing - some might find it amazing, while others might find it totally gross. But the fact remains, it's a fascinating technique that has been used for centuries. What do you think? Would you be willing to try waterglassing to keep your eggs fresh? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! #waterglassing #freshfood #foodstorage
