What a week of action ahead of COP 28! On Monday, we hand-delivered a letter signed by over 2000 business leaders to No 10 Downing Street calling on the Prime Minister to take firm and swift action, enabling the UK to regain its global climate leader status at COP 28. On Tuesday, the head of the Net Zero Review, Rt Hon Chris Skidmore MP, went on to present the open letter as a petition in the House of Commons. The letter asks Sunak to commit to a clear climate action plan that can deliver long-term security and certainty for UK businesses. This has become increasingly necessary following the Government's climate policy rollback. These actions represent an important milestone for the UK’s business-led climate and nature movement, ensuring the open letter from the Queue for Climate and Nature in September ends up in front of those with the power to make a difference at the highest level. Publicly supported by the likes of Deborah Meaden, Paul Polman, Chris Packham, and Dale Vince, the letter also contains signatures from key decision makers at Triodos Bank, WHEB Asset Management, Tribe Impact Capital, Riverford Organic Farmers, Cook Food, and Cafédirect Plc.
