We are pleased to host a #UNGA #UNGA79 #ClimateWeekNYC panel with Nuveen, a TIAA company on Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities: Achieving UN SDG 11 Together, where we will discuss if we are on the right track to achieve #SDG11, implications for #climatechange, and what more can be done to achieve greater #equity and access to #affordablehousing. United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11 aims to make cities safe, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable. Increasing the supply of affordable housing is fundamental to achieving these goals, as approximately 3 billion people - or 40% of the global population - will need access to housing by 2030 according to UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme). This equates to a demand for 96,000 new accessible and affordable housing units every day. School systems are having to consider climate changes impacts in order to provide a healthy learning environment for students. According to a recent Climate Central report, cooling demands saw an increase of 95% between 1970 and 2023 in U.S schools due to global warming. https://lnkd.in/ey6xjiba

Studies indicate that weight-loss drugs may also be effective in lowering the risk of obesity-related cancers like breast, colon, liver, and ovarian cancers along with other conditions such as addiction and sleep apnea.
