Hey folks, So my name is Nikhil. I had growth at Euro with a fraud prevention, identity verification and risk mitigation company headquartered here in Bangalore in India. It's International Women's Day. And you know, India as a country, there's been a lot of good stuff that we can back, but of course, a lot of work to be done. But I think if you look at my team was just telling me some numbers and I think most, almost 39% of companies in India seem to have women. In CX operations, which is slightly higher than the global average, a lot of work to be done and I feel one thing that we want to do more consciously is sort of. Get more women out there. I've, I've sort of almost stopped doing panels where it's only manuals and, and, and I know it's ironic that I'm doing this. We actually have a couple of very amazing women behind the camera here at Euro. We have talked about who actually looks at customer success for us and we have a Laki who leads all of our content marketing initiatives. But super excited to welcome Ushahidi. OSHA is chief compliance and risk officer at Spice Money. Spice money today, how would you how to discuss first thing I would, I would call it like probably India someone rural fintech sort of powerhouse. Yeah, it is a rural fintech powerhouse. And you know, we work across the country with one and a half million entrepreneurs whom we have empowered in terms of you know, employment generation, income generation. So I think we are pretty deep in the rural space. I was looking at your footprint and and I think it's like it's over a quarter million villages where you have presents today. Yeah, I think we are pretty much an India in all the villages. Go ahead. We're super happy to be with you on this journey. And, and, and you know, given all of your experience, we want to talk a little bit more about leadership and women leadership. And you know, the women on our team have asked me to ask a few questions, which very fairly so I want to ask them, but I want to just get started with a very quick fun round of just yes or no questions, right? Like just go with the flow, I think. You know, as leaders, you're often there are different kinds of situations you put yourself in. Have you ever made a decision where you were the only yes or you were the only no at the table and then it turned out that your instinct was right or yes, of course. When it comes to leadership, you believe it's more about influence or authority. Influence and. You know, one thing that I struggle with is this whole imposter syndrome aspect. Have you ever struggled with imposter syndrome at any point? If there is no, I think I've always had the good fortune of being myself. That's amazing. I'm so envious. I think I know the answer to the question, but I will still ask it. Have you ever had to take a tough call that kept you up at night? Yes, very much so. e-mail last night I was up. No, no, no. Ohh. Heavy lies the head, you know, the crowd. You you know what I'm saying is, you know, sometimes. But yeah, yeah, that's right. Ohh. Other quick question. And this is something I'm coming from a genuine place, curiosity, I'm sure, whether it's at Spice Money or, you know, several other illustrious organizations where you've been part of the leadership team. Do you feel leaders, women leaders are held to a slightly higher standard than male counterparts? Yeah, I think more than others holding us, you know, to higher standards. We ourselves struggle with that. I would say urge to be perfect in everything and that is why we ourselves set higher standards and that gets compounded by other setting higher standards for us. So it's a two way thing. So it's not just multiplied by two, it's multiplied by 4. I so I think I need to more serious questions now, but just, you know, you're in the Bureau office today. Thank you so much for coming here. But we have a whole bunch of young folks here who are probably as aspirational and nerdy about fraud and risk and all of these topics and compliance that you obsess about. And we have a lot of women here, right? Like, and, and most of them look at you as sort of a. The role model somebody that they want to grow up and be more like. Are there go 3 tips that you have in terms of how if there is a glass ceiling, how do they break it? What are some pivotal things, some some piece of advice that you might have it? I think, you know, I'm too small to advise. You know, the young kids here who according to me are way smarter than every ballot and they all they're also, I would say they have the right tools. They have the right, you know, working atmosphere. So it's easier for them to, you know, make progress in a quicker manner. But if you look at universal advice would be embrace opportunities and just drop that feeling of guilt. I think women generally have this tendency to obsess about home and, you know, they, I think they push themselves too hard. So just drop the gate and raise opportunities and, you know, build a very good network support system is very important. Being a woman, I think that support system is what keeps you going. That's really important. If you're not blessed with one in the manner in which I was blessed, you need to build it. You need to work hard to build that support system. I think with that you should. You can break every ceiling that you can imagine, you know from. Some of you, you mentioned great place to work and, and, and Bureau, we aspire to be a great place to work, right. I, I think we've been super lucky with the kind of talent that we've been able to attract and, and very proud of the young women we have on the team. What can we as sort of a bunch of us in leadership positions within the all, what can we do to become part of this support system that you alluded to? And how can we make Bureau a place where women are just survive, but thrive and grow into the best versions of them? And it's professionally and and beyond. I think it's very important to empathize #1 and #2 I think it's really important to recognize their role as, you know, homemakers and just support that probably hybrid, you know, working helps in and say, making women more comfortable at work because there's better balance. And I would also say. That, you know, there are companies who have gone above and beyond who have, you know, ensured that there is kids care and there is, you know, enough of other support system which probably women might not have at their respective locations. So it's it's I think. This. Any amount of discussion on this, we can go on and on, but there's so much, so much. And the best thing to do is treat them with respect and empathy. I think that is probably that would really help in, I don't say fostering this culture. A very critical and important point in terms of empathy, right? Like an empathy is something that. Maybe it's the wrong sort of notion to always expect women to be more empathetic, but somehow, anecdotally at least have noticed that leaders, women tend to have higher empathy or well-rounded. And whether it's COVID or, you know, the other examples, we've seen pretty much empirical evidence that shows that women leaders do a lot of these aspects. But are there sort of qualities that, you know, we should be looking for and that women leaders bring to the table? Probably the male counterparts are not so great at there should be harness better. Like what is what does playing to strengths look like from a bin and leadership version? And then inherently, you know, being empathetic is always associated with higher emotional quotient. And I think it's now probably universally accepted rule that women bring more equal and more empathy to the table. Everything always helps in effective decision making. Yeah, and also in probably better conflict resolution. So I think these two are very important at leadership level. You would appreciate that. Especially when we are dealing in dress for compliance, there's a lot of conflict resolution, most certainly. No, and this is superb. And and I know there were discussions a bit heavy on this front. So I want to, I know you're short on time. You you've been very grateful with your time and you're shuttling between meetings today. I just had a few quick sort of rapid fire kind of questions for you that will hopefully help our audience as well. So what's a book that you would recommend every aspiring leader should read? And and if you could put like a single line piece of advice on a billboard saying MG Rd. in Bangalore, what would that be? I think foster trust and collaboration. That's nice. That's pretty nice. In the front of the space which most of us in the room live and breathe. What are you, what's the trend that you're seeing that you think we'll all be talking about a lot more in the next couple of years or two to five years? We are already talking about it and we will continue to talk about artificial intelligence and deep fakes. Sure, sure. That's gonna change probably the way we look at frauds and keep us very busy. Especially because we think of technology as something that we have access to, but in reality, the other side, so to speak, has access to the same as well. So you, you have to be, it's a cat and mouse game. It's always that. And, and you know, before we let you carry on with the rest of the day and thank you for being graceful with your time. What is one sort of leadership mantra that you live by? Leading by example is what I would say is my leadership, because to be respected, you have to command respect. You cannot demand respect and you can command respect only if you bought the doc. So that's really, really important. And the higher you go, the more important it becomes because there are people looking at you, there are people watching. And I think setting that right example with your ethics, with your, you know, approach and. With passion, I think I would say that is the one. Set an example. Also, you know, attack you so much. This has been amazing. I've enjoyed our conversation both on and off the camera.
