?? In an era where AI-generated images are becoming a bigger part of our online interactions, we’re dedicated to using AI responsibly and addressing any challenges that come from its misuse. This month we launched a new option under Bumble’s ‘Fake Profiles’ reporting menu, allowing our users to report profiles they suspect are using AI-generated photos and videos. We see this as a win for authenticity – something daters are telling us they want more and more of! ?? In a recent survey* conducted by Bumble, 71% of Gen-Z and Millennial respondents said they believe there should be limits on using AI-generated profile pictures and bios on dating apps. This feedback inspired our new feature, helping everyone assess the authenticity of their connections. ?? This is just the latest in our efforts to harness the power of AI to foster healthy and meaningful connections online. Earlier this year, we launched Deception Detector?, an AI tool designed to identify and weed out spam, scam, and fake profiles. Within the first two months of its launch, reports of spam, scam, and fake profiles were reduced by 45%! Before that we launched our AI-powered Private Detector? tool that automatically detects and warns users about potentially lewd images. We’re also leveraging the power of machine learning to improve user safety across our portfolio of apps – we launched AI Group Photo Blur on Badoo on Badoo earlier this year. With this feature, members can upload group photos easily without having to worry about their friends’ privacy; users can also feel safer in easily identifying who they are matching with. What if AI could automatically censor content it deems inappropriate for certain audiences? AI is increasingly being used to monitor and control the type of content that reaches various demographics, ensuring appropriateness and compliance with regulations. Imagine AI systems automatically filtering news, media, and advertisements based on your age, location, or personal preferences. While this might protect users from offensive content, it also poses significant threats to freedom of speech and could lead to censorship without transparency. We must advocate for clear, universally accepted guidelines that govern AI censorship, ensuring it protects without unfairly limiting access or silencing diverse voices. Is AI-led content moderation a step towards safer digital spaces, or a slippery slope to overt censorship? #AICensorship #AI #DigitalRights #TechEthics #FreedomOfSpeech

Despite the widespread hype around AI tools like ChatGPT, a global survey reveals that their daily usage remains minimal. Although AI has sparked significant interest since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, practical adoption lags. A survey by the Reuters Institute and Oxford University found that while 54% of respondents across six countries had heard of ChatGPT, only about 3% used it daily. Usage varied by demographics, with higher engagement among younger individuals. This highlights a gap between AI’s perceived potential and its actual everyday use. #Techwixer #ai #openai #chatgpt #gpt #launch #hype #survey #global #oxford #demographic #engagment #potential #technology

When I used Gemini to produce a photo of a business meeting in Hawaii based upon Hawaii’s demographics, it produced an image of 3 white men, one white woman, and a black woman. Hawaii is more than 50% Asian and low single digit blacks. When I asked Gemini to revise the photo to eliminate the black woman and add two Asian characters, I received a woke lecture on the importance of diversity and they Gemini could not produce the image as I needed. Gemini created images of black Vikings, all black cowboys, all black English royalty as an homage to the DEI mandates being imposed upon us. It is no longer about factual representiation. If you ask Gemini, what is worth more, 100 pennies of 3 quarters, the response is three quarters. I do not rely upon any AI platform for data or fact gathering as I have found gross misinformation and unreliable data results. This is a good first step.

Generative AI products by tech giants like Microsoft, Alphabet, and OpenAI have attracted significant attention and investment. However, a 2024 YouGov survey for the Reuters Institute indicates that this hasn't led to widespread usage. In six countries, only 9% of 18-24-year-olds use ChatGPT daily, 18% weekly, and 44% have never used it. Among older age groups, usage is even lower; 84% of those over 55 have never used it, while heavy usage drops significantly with age. This highlights a gap between publicity and actual adoption across different demographics. Source: Statista #chatgpt #generativeai #openai #microsoft

Do you still need humans to answer your surveys, or can Gen AI do it all for you? The short answer: not yet, but it does have a place in market research today. Not too long ago, we shared insights from a #GenZ study completed by an all-human panel. We wanted to compare if we would get similar responses (or better) with a #GenAI synthetic panel resembling the demographics of this audience. We found that when it came to close-ended questions, the synthetic respondents did decently well. Where they mainly lacked, however, was in responding to open-ended questions-- they simply missed the nuances and depths that humans provide. So what does this mean? Perhaps AI cannot quite replace human panels at the moment, but the efficiencies can prove to be useful in cases such as testing surveys. Take a look at what we found in detail: https://lnkd.in/eW4YjtAk #marketresearch #AI #data #surveys

Social connection generation and ghost connection has been a USP for LinkedIn, Insta and other social platform. There algorithms seem to heavily weigh on political views similarities or political homophily, Not the best way to look at connection. Using LLMs to recommend connection may just be the answer for these platforms. Using LLMs in a flexible and zero-shot way to generate social networks based on personas (demographics and interests). Unlike other methods that either require extensive training data or rely on stylized models, LLMs allow for a more dynamic, language-based approach to simulate relationships, potentially useful in applications that model social dynamics. In terms of social connections, the paper suggests that while LLMs can be used to simulate human interactions, they do so with an inherent bias, such as overemphasizing political homophily. Therefore, while useful for simulating networks, this approach needs further refinement to reduce bias in generating realistic social interactions and connections. link to the paper: https://lnkd.in/dD3znHQ7 #llm #writtenbyhuman #ai #deeplearning
