Our Demo Day/Night Competitions have become anticipated highlights of our Summits and Conferences, and Toronto's roster of startups did not disappoint. Over an hour and a half, nine companies—NxLite (Formerly 3E Nano Inc), Veristart Technologies Inc., Mechasys, CarbiCrete, Silo-In, Mechasys, ZS2 Technologies, UBILD, homerenu, GeoXtra Solutions—each founded on unique innovations that aim to solve some of the AEC industry's most persistent problems, took the stage in an effort to convince our panel of expert judges—leaders from Andersen Corporation (Andersen Venture), Building Ventures, Vita Inclinata Technologies, UFP Ventures, VINCI, EllisDon, GroundBreak Ventures and Saint-Gobain. While many impressed, there could be only one winner. While admittedly not an easy decision, CarbiCrete, a carbon removal technology company that enables the production of cement-free, carbon-negative concrete, ultimately came out on top, with an insightful, compelling and eloquent pitch from its co-founder and senior advisor Chris Stern.
