Cedar Woods is thrilled to announce the successful sale of our childcare site at Mason Quarter, Wollert, to leading property group Oreana, with Aspire Early Education and Kindergarten confirmed as the operator. RPM GRP led the campaign and their commitment and expertise were instrumental in ensuring the successful facilitation of this sale. The 2,621m2 site at 58A Geata Street will be home to a 122-place childcare facility, with construction forecast to commence in 2025 . This state-of-the-art facility will be a valuable addition to Mason Quarter's growing community, supporting local families with quality early learning services within walking distance of their homes. What IS a Childcare Desert? ??? It's an area or postcode where for every one place in a childcare, there are 3 or more children needing that place. Dr Peter Hurley of Victoria University's Mitchell Institute has been researching the impact these deserts are having on families and children around Western Sydney, along with how the providers are using it to their advantage. "Providers are doing, what they can, to make the most money, and that can be a problem for the lower socio-economic areas," "They (families) are more likely to find it difficult to find a place than other places in Sydney, and when they do find a place, they're more likely to have to go further to get to it." This is why, more than ever, we need to see truly universal early childhood education and care. Have you planned for your future childcare? As of April 2024, governmental childcare support will expand gradually, eventually providing 30 hours of free childcare to most working families with children under 5 by September 2025. Eligible households with all adults working at least 16 hours will receive this support for children over 9 months old. The changes will be introduced in stages: ? April 2024: 15 hours of free childcare for working parents of two-year-olds ? September 2024: 15 hours of free childcare for working parents of children aged nine months to three years ? September 2025: 30 hours of free childcare for all eligible working parents of children aged nine months to three years The hours can be used over 38 weeks or up to 52 weeks with fewer hours per week, depending on the provider. https://lnkd.in/eFMBkEYs #payroll #childcare #government
