ChatGPT Search launched today! I've been testing it out and it's fast, reliable, and provides links/resources right within the answer. I love how it can think deeper than just spitting out relevant links based on queries... here's a video that shows what it's like -- do you think it will revolutionize the search? Trailblaze Marketing even was served up on the results!

*This article is behind paywall, check with your library for access to read the full text.* This exercise of comparing chatbots reminds me of my "Introduction of Reference Resources" class back in the 80's, that's how #library science students learned the strength and weakness of each resource. We use a set of questions, tried various resources (library catalogs, encyclopedias, handbooks, databases, actual books, etc.) to find answers, then compare the answers. We gained first-hand experiences with the resources, so that when a question comes, we know which resources can provide what types of answers. The challenge now is the speed of change. Even during the process of preparing this article, ChatGPT has an upgrade! The result of this exercise is less important than the the method it demonstrates. #AIinLibraries

With new technology there’s usually some parts I appreciate and some parts I loathe. For AI, it’s email responses. I get it, people are busy, there’s 100+ emails a day in the inbox, and it’s often the last thing people want to do. So why not add a synthetic helper? That’s fine, have a ChatGPT blast with your emails. However, know that if you respond to my email, particularly if you originated the thread, please take 30 seconds to ensure it doesn’t sound like a third-grade book report regurgitation of my response just to fill space and time. I don’t have time to dialog with the budget version of Jarvis. Additionally, you should know any future emails from you will likely be auto sorted by Outlook into a folder titled “Delete Without Prejudice.”???

Just a few days ago, I was complaining about Google AI Studio's inability to interact with interfaces (like, actually, clicking buttons and such), and here we go—OpenAI launches Operator, an AI agent that does the research and is capable of executing tasks in the browser as well. No password filling or any sensitive data manipulation, though... yet https://lnkd.in/eV3kHpPN

Here's my current perspective on the strengths and weaknesses of the four main LLMs: ?? ChatGPT ($20/mo): - Best for: Live voice interactions & all-around use - Killer feature: Advanced Voice Mode - Downside: I don't think it's quite as smart as Claude. ?? Claude ($20/mo): - Best for: Nuanced, intelligent responses - Killer feature: The project area has helped me build several applications. ChatGPT released a competing feature, but it isn't as good. - Downside: Fewer features, no web searching ?? Gemini ($20/mo): - Best for: Research & visual tasks - Downside: I don't think it's as smart as GPT or Claude. ?? DeepSeek (Free/Enterprise): - Best for: Cost. DeepSeek is open source, and anyone can run it independently of Deepseek with some technical know-how. - Downside: What are they doing with your data if you use the model available in their app or website? Not as smart as the other LLMs yet. ?? Pro tip: Start with the free versions to test their "personality" - you'll likely click with one more than others. For more information about pros and cons of these models, I highly recommend Ethan Mollick's comprehensive guide here: https://lnkd.in/gVK6isBG Which AI platform are you using?
