Ever hear of Occam’s razor? You have if you’ve watched Big Bang Theory (great show). The concept falls into our laps when we need it most. Here’s a paraphrased version - “When considering multiple possibilities, the simplest explanation is the most likely to be correct” For leaders who struggle with “why did they do that?” or “why didn’t they see this?” scenarios, this is often a great way to stop, drop, and roll into the potential outcomes, vs. heading into the rabbit hole of frustration (sometimes anger). The fact is, you’ve made similar mistakes in your past too - maybe not that one, but something similar. Oftentimes, it’s easier to have a conversation to clarify things. It’s an opportunity for you to practice NOT going rogue, and owning how you potentially could have interpreted something vs. finding out the perspective of someone else.
