Last week, Dr. Erin Simpson, Executive Director of the Joint Production Accelerator Cell (JPAC), and members of the JPAC team visited Camden, Arkansas to observe manufacturing, final assembly, test, and storage operations at Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Controls facility. Updates on production for critical munitions included the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), and Patriot Advanced Capability – 3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE).

Established last year, a tactical, problem-solving cell that leverages analytical processes and current authorities to be less crisis-driven and empower more proactive, forward-looking decision-making to support more responsive weapons production. The organization focuses on three main efforts: scaling production in line with Department priorities through direct investment in suppliers; building surge capacity, including identifying opportunities to introduce and leverage new production techniques, advanced manufacturing, and digital engineering; and engaging allies and partners to identify and address global production constraints.
