The past few months have been building up to the crescendo, building up to the feast, the time when work is in abundance, the time when the industry goes mad.... A period when Contractors and Subcontractors often become overwhelmed, swamped with projects and work around the clock to breath a sigh of relief when the first week in September comes around and the School's reopen. Until the next year.... Have you planned for smooth sailing through these choppy waters or are you just going to close your eyes and hope for the best...? What did the Romans & Australia’s Building Industry really do? So I asked some Mentors what stands out as a REAL deliverable ie ? National ? REALLY important ? enduring benefit to all???? I thought the NCC was a starter … but most said a hard ’NO WAY’ because of the chaos of State alternatives PLUS the constant confusion of 3 Volumes and unintelligible structure. Shout out to various ‘fragments’ of goodness / good intentions. Often these only relate to a single issue, trade or State eg David Chandler’s work with NSW quality, influencers like Duayne Pearce, David Tomi? & relentless Stan Giaouris make a difference ?? But who will deliver the ‘Opera House’ type milestones OUR Industry is REALLY desperate for? Mirror, mirror ……. BuildingTools is a valid entry because it will solve / prevent most issues from Education through to Defect Claim if it continues to get the ‘Fan Boy / Fan Girl’ response from those who wanna fix the mess our Industry is in.
