We couldn't be more thrilled for the amazingly talented artist Amber M. Jensen, who was just selected for the McKnight Foundation 2024 Fiber Art Fellowship. Amber's talent as an artist shines brightly right here in the Twin Cities, and we're so lucky to benefit from her work throughout the metro. This follows the The New York Times article highlighting the Art Shanty project, which she so prominently collaborated on. ? We’re looking forward to having two of Amber’s amazing weavings at Esox House. Her work brings to life essence of what we're dreaming up – a seamless blend of nature's beauty and the warmth of personal connections. It’s a place where connections happen, and thanks to talents like Amber, we're weaving that dream into every corner. ? At Buhl Investors, artists are valued community makers. Their creativity breathes life into spaces, infusing them with the energy and vibrancy that define places for personal connection. We love finding talented artists like Amber to help us do this, and very supportive of the art community. ? And celebrating big wins like Amber's? It's the best part of what we do. ? Big congrats to Amber! Your hard work and incredible talent are inspiring, and we're all cheering for you!

Collaborating with long-term partners isn't about going through the same rinse-and-repeat process. It's about continuously evolving to meet their changing needs. Over 7 years after we designed and developed our first site with Chicago History Museum, it was time for an upgrade. This time, we focused on delivering the most critical features first, then worked on the rest in phases. Taking a new approach provided immediate value while also laying the groundwork for lasting success. ???????? #BuiltByClique

CAN ART SURVIVE THE COST OF LIVING CRISIS AND UPLIFT COMMUNITIES? The arts sector is suffering from rising living costs, which impose significant financial pressure on artists and organisations. As materials, production, and daily living expenses increase, many creatives find themselves at a crossroads. However, these challenges also offer a chance to rethink how art can meaningfully connect with and support communities. In response, artists and arts organisations adapt and innovate, exploring new ways to engage with audiences while prioritising community well-being. This situation underscores the vital role of art in fostering connection, expression, and resilience during tough times, enabling artists to sustain their work while promoting a sense of belonging and support within their communities. Dr Tully Barnett, Associate Professor of Creative Arts at Flinders University, joined us today to discuss how the cost-of-living crisis is hitting the arts and how we can shift the focus to art’s role in building stronger, more resilient communities.

Big questions! I wish we allowed ourselves more space to tackle big questions. I think we'd be surprised by the amount of things working in our favor to change the things not working in our favor. (Read that again) It is no coincidence that our nation is exhibiting all the markers of political and social change OR collapse as we approach 250 of national identity. If it feels like it's bursting at the seams, well, it's because it is. How lucky are we to live at such a time as this!? (I ACTUALLY mean that) We have the power to change the course of human events. So, what are you going to do? Check out the Kennedy Center "Promise of Us" website: https://lnkd.in/gKWZJEM6
Over a year ago, Deborah Rutter, Marc Bamuthi Joseph, and I gathered at the REACH with our curatorial teams from across the Center to explore the question: how does the nation's cultural center celebrate the country's 250th anniversary in 2026? We grappled with the mixed emotions this milestone raised in each of us and ultimately found great inspiration from President Kennedy's words etched directly on the building:?"I look forward to an America which will not be afraid of grace and beauty." Our conversations as a creative collective began to center around fearlessness and how we uplift artists and communities that embody courage, creativity, and boldness. We endeavored to use questions as an invitation for conversation and collaboration with other artists and leaders as we began to explore thoughts such as, “What does America sound like?”, “What is ‘American’ culture?”, and “How do we steward and care for the future of arts and culture in our communities and country?” And at the heart of our journey was a clear belief: America is a promise still unfolding, a dream yet to be fully realized. The Promise of US - Our Nation at 250 is our call to engage, evolve, and elevate...to embrace the beauty of our country’s diversity and the power of our unity. It is a call to realize a future where every voice is heard, every story told, and every dream possible, while acknowledging the road our nation and our peoples have traveled on. Today, we're excited to share some initial threads of programming as we continue to weave the tapestry of 2026 at the Center. We hope you'll join us in conversation and creativity over these next few years and can't wait to further explore these ideas with artists, communities, and co-conspirators across the country and around the world. Personal Injury, Family Law, Estate Planning Attorney and Managing Partner at Rachel Frazier Johnson Law ? Connector Extraordinaire
Today is Inspire Your Heart With #Art Day which encourages us to think about how art affects our hearts. Art has an incredible power to touch our hearts, stir our emotions and spark our imagination. As someone who is deeply passionate about creativity and innovation, I find endless inspiration in the vast and diverse world of art. From admiring a painting in a museum, grooving to a song or getting lost in an entertaining movie or play, art speaks to us in many different ways. It transcends language barriers and cultural divides, connecting us through shared experiences and emotions. I truly enjoy serving the arts #community in many forms (past and present) including: chairing and serving as a commissioner for the Public Art Committee for the City of Phoenix Arts and Culture Commission, serving as a Board Member of the Women’s Metropolitan Arts Council (a support organization for the Phoenix Art Museum), volunteering for the Phoenix Art Museum and producing films and plays. For me, art serves as a reminder of the boundless possibilities of expression. It encourages me to think outside the box, challenge norms and explore new perspectives. Art inspires me to approach problems with an open mind, try new things and embrace failure as an essential part of the creative process. In today's fast-paced world fueled by innovation, fostering an appreciation for art is more important than ever. By nurturing an environment that celebrates creativity and encourages diverse perspectives, we can unlock new possibilities, drive meaningful change and shape a brighter future for generations to come. #artinspires #inspireyourheartwithartday #rfjlaw #rachelfrazierjohnsonlaw
