If you run a Sales Team or Ambitious Company and are frustrated by the lack of action your team shows to get on the phone and chat with leads and prospects you have then you are not alone! We seem to have lost the desire in many cases to talk with people and I know I have met several 'salespeople' in the last 6 months who believe that outbound prospecting is beneath them. My question to them is always 'How will you achieve your targets and plans if you don't do this' There is rarely an answer. Generally just an excuse as to why they can't or don't want to do it. This doesn't help you achieve the plans you have. As businesses, we live and breathe by bringing in new business and sales and although social engagement and email are tools in the armory, the other vital tool is the phone. It still works if you do it in the right way. Our Growth Resourcing team has been trained on how to make calls and are focused on speaking to prospects and leads to build pipelines. They start work next week on the first few clients we have brought on board and as Matt says, we are adding more people to the team to meet the initial demand we have seen. If you are frustrated that your team doesn't do enough prospecting then let's have a chat and see if we can solve that issue for you.

Spoke to a hiring manager today who has a refreshing approach to recruiting National Account Executives… (homebased ??) They arent obsessed with buying in identikit experience to plug a hole in their team. They’re offering a fresh opportunity for someone to step up into a bigger role with P&L ownership that would be ideal for someone looking to move on from field sales or commercial admin. They laid out: ??What you will learn in your new role (spoiler alert - National account management..) ??What accounts you will cut your teeth on (delivered wholesale and buying groups) ??Why their management approach is supportive and gets the most out of their team (honesty, integrity and embracing challenging thinking) ??Gave examples of team members who are thriving (one followed them across two companies!) ??Gave example of why the company culture fosters loyalty and works smart (as well as hard) ??Painted the big picture on where the business is going and why you want to be there (investment in people and product) And only after all this, did they lay out what they needs from their new hire. This hiring manager really gets it. If you want people to take interest in your company, you need to make their needs a priority. This is your life after all.
