BuckeyeThon's Leadership Team attended Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Ignite Conference this summer and won its prestigious Stewardship Award. Our Finance Branch and Development Committee worked hard all year to show our sincere gratitude and appreciation to all our donors and sponsors for their unwavering generosity and support. We are honored to have won this award! Additionally, we are endlessly grateful to Nationwide Children's Hospital for giving us the opportunity to attend. We learned so much and have already begun to implement new strategies and knowledge into our work!

What better way to start conference season than at the one and only NH Center for Nonprofits?Conference & Expo? It's only lunch time and I've had the pleasure of connecting with leadership transition coaches, Executive Directors, Program Managers, staff of organizations with rich histories and visionaries launching their first nonprofit.? If you're at the event don't forget to stop by and pick up your squishy pear?? and be sure to join the strategic planning session with my colleague, Lara Quiroga!

? Are your donors hearing from your leadership? If not, they deserve to! In our work with Village Schools International, we used a letter from leadership to set the tone for their entire annual report, a crucial touchpoint with donors. #Donorcommunications #nonprofitmarketing #annualreport

In today's interconnected world, the value of relationships is more important than ever. We know that girls from under-resourced communities do not have the same access to networks and relationships. One of the most powerful ways to bring this gap is through mentoring. ?? Why Mentoring Girls’ Matters: 1. Personal Growth: Mentors provide guidance, helping mentees navigate challenges and discover their strengths.? 2. Skill Development: A mentor shares their expertise, offering practical advice that can help mentees develop new skills and broaden their horizons. 3. Networking Opportunities: Mentors often open doors to new connections, expanding professional networks and creating opportunities for collaboration. ?? How You Can Help: Ladies of Virtue (LOVChicago) connects middle-school and high school girls with mentors to help them build relationship capital. I invite you to join me in supporting LOV Chicago’s mission. Your contributions, no matter the size, can help connect girls with mentors, leadership and career development. ???? Donate: Visit LOV Chicago’s Givebutter page (https://lnkd.in/e5hCHRF4) to make a contribution towards their annual fundraiser. Every dollar counts! ???? Attend: Join LOV’s annual fundraiser on November 13 at 6 p.m. to learn more about its work in Chicago.?You can find details in the link above. ???? Spread the Word: Share this post to raise awareness and encourage others to get involved. Together, we can connect more girls with mentors.

What I've learned from securing a dozen seven-figure gifts (=$23M); and 50+ six-figure gifts (=$10M) from individuals and foundations over my career: ?? You want to partner with these donors. You see them not just as a resource for funds, but you love their ideas. It needs to be a good fit both ways. ?? Leadership donors help you secure other leadership donors. You want to get them involved (such as serving on the board) and encourage them to engage their friends and colleagues. ??The first six or seven-figure gift is just the beginning. How do we strengthen our partnership??We need to be in conversation with them about our challenges, what's ahead, and what possibilities their gift has opened up. Organizations that are acting like partners will receive an entirely different response than those that simply submit an application or send an email request.

This will be my first time attending Elevate conference organized by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance. Excited to be attending virtually together with other nonprofit leaders and professionals, to listen and learn from a lineup of remarkable speakers. Just like the theme denotes, I want to stay inspired and be a trailblazer in the nonprofit sector through my coaching, consulting and training services. #nonprofitleadership #nonprofit #growthmindset #lifelonglearning #nonprofitmanagement #nonprofitfundraising
