Have a listen to my colleagues William Josten, Esq., ALRAP and Zach Warren fascinating conversation about #GenAI and impact on #LawFirm economics.
Legal services business strategy | Legal Competitive Intelligence | Law Firm Profitability | Legal Services Pricing | Change Management | Legal Project Management | Presenter
I got to be a guest on my own podcast! It was fun to be on the other side of the microphone with my teammate Zach Warren on the Thomson Reuters Institute Insights podcast talking about what the future of law firm billing in an AI-driven landscape might look like. As Zach points out, no one has all the answers yet. But I think the two of us gave pretty fair and in-depth treatment to both the key questions people are asking and some of the leading answers today. Just the latest installment in our ongoing body of work on what #lawfirmpricing might look like in an #AI future. Give a listen then like, share, subscribe, and review! I have been listening to @mogawdat's Slow Mo podcast for quite some time. He is one of my favourite contemporary intellectuals. Recently, I listened to his 2020 book "Scary Smart: The Future of Artificial Intelligence and How You Can Save Our World." I cannot recommend it enough. Snippets won't give it justice. The entire book must be read. https://lnkd.in/ervi7u4H

BTW, if you subscribed to my podcast, the latest episode is live today covering the (tough) tracking situation with AI overviews. You can find that video podcast on Spotify, YouTube, and Apple Podcasts. Again, each episode will be concise (under 15 minutes, with most under 10). Episode 2 is seven minutes. https://lnkd.in/ehdKpCDn #google #seo #ai

Please ignore the title, as well as the initial flashy, noisy, podcast hype, and slide your timeline cursor to min. 02:40. It's simple 2-way conversation across an empty table. https://lnkd.in/eMUGby8i What you don't see with your eyes on that table are the invisible and complex, challenges and perspectives they're unpacking for us. Even with the subtitles turned on, I wanted to re-listen and re-watch a number of segments, because the distinctions and insights roll by so quickly. In one short segment, Harari (guest) & Bartlett (host) move seamlessly through an array of related subjects from the transfer of power and societal trust as the?fulcrum of our democracy, to the power of credibility of institutions (vs individuals), our growing inability to trust technology for accurate information, to a deeper meaning of bureaucracy in?our world today. Hope you find at least some of it worthwhile, so please comment if you do. In this call-it-whatever-you-want-to world of ours, don't more of us need to interactively unpack and process what we experience, lest we wind up cut off from each other in customized, AI-monitored cocoons as dystopian literature speculates? #visualliteracy??#VisualThinking???#visualstorytelling?? #visualcommunication???#VisualFacilitation??#Visualization

Listening to Mark Cuban speak about "scale capture" in health: large actors, hard to circumvent because of a complex system that they create), I can't help to wonder if there is a parallel with modern cloud-based software & AI stacks: A huge invisible added cost? https://lnkd.in/eQriWtz3

https://lnkd.in/eVY8q9FY Solving crimes with a new perspective: In walks AI. In previous posts I talked about technology and DNA, which are crucial to solving crimes, like this 49 year old discovery. Without DNA to make comparisons to, and without technology to cross over previous boundaries, this case would not be active or ever solved. AI and databases of information are multi-purpose, and that makes them invaluable to solving crimes from a new perspective.
