????Yes, the JBA Community Chapter Switzerland is an existing private LinkedIn group since 2022. But what is more interesting that it is NOT too active online... but it rather active offline, in REAL LIFE! ?? 2 years ago, June 2022 we kicked off an informal community of the Josh Bersin Academy members who live in Switzerland. Credit goes to my friend Robert M. Burnside who dropped the idea, he knew that I love to get people together. ??Since then we have been meeting 2-3 times a year with these handful of HR professionals from the Zürich area. One of the members always offers to host us in their offices. Kudos for the members from ABB The Adecco Group LHH Zalando Amcor who hosted us so far. Starting Fresh in an International HR Role: Challenges and Opportunities Beginning a new job is always an exciting journey – even more so when it’s a leadership position in an international company. Recently, I took on the challenge of joining a global team as an HR leader in Germany, and I’d like to share some reflections on this transition. ? The First Steps: Starting in a new organization always comes with a steep learning curve: understanding processes, immersing yourself in the company culture, and navigating internal structures. It requires not only professional expertise but also a great deal of empathy and adaptability. ?? International Collaboration: In a global environment, cultural differences play a crucial role. Communication styles, decision-making approaches, and leadership expectations can vary significantly across regions. The key is to strike a balance between a local perspective and a global strategy. ?? Leadership Responsibility: Leading in HR means not only empowering the team but also acting as a strategic partner for the entire organization. In a new company, it’s essential to build trust and align both individual and business objectives. ?? My Takeaway: Starting a new job is always an opportunity to grow beyond your comfort zone. Especially now, when HR is more critical than ever, taking on responsibility and driving innovation requires courage and openness.
