We're thrilled to announce that we're spearheading a pilot demonstration aimed at revolutionizing the Space Industry's approach to attracting future talent. And here's the kicker: many of these high-demand careers don't require a traditional 4-year degree! Starting in Alabama, where 48% of high school students opt out of pursuing postsecondary education and training, we're determined to make a transformative impact. Our mission? To bring awareness, access, and connectivity to the incredible opportunities awaiting in the realm of Space. Why Alabama? Because we believe that every corner of our nation deserves the chance to thrive in the Space Industry. By breaking down barriers and providing pathways for aspiring talents, we're not just shaping careers, but we're also fostering innovation and progress. At Futures Inc., we understand that talent knows no boundaries, and neither does the boundless potential of Space. Together, let's embark on this journey to inspire, empower, and propel the next generation of space pioneers. Join us in shaping the future, one star at a time

Very excited to host the 3rd in the series of Experience Talks in Chicago on the 25th June. Fortunate to be joined by Steven Handmaker of Marsh McLennan Agency McLennan and Eric Matisoff of Adobe as we continue to dig into the opportunities and challenges for Marketing, Tech and Experience leaders in the …you guessed it…era of AI. From our previous talks, its clear we are starting to get into the action and always fascinating/exciting/scary to hear and see the impact in such a short time between sessions. Last time I was in Chicago I did not realise it was twinned with the Antarctic, so I’m very much looking forward to experiencing this great town in warmer temperatures! There are a few spaces left, so if you or your colleagues are a leader in this space and in the Chicago area please reach out. RightpointGenpactAdobeMarsh McLennan AgencyMarsh McLennanJenny G. Growth and maturity and evolution of a passionate leader, Thanks Alvin for this post.
Remembering Steve Jobs who left us 13 years ago, an individual that has inspired us all. This is probably one of Jobs’ best speeches at Stanford's graduation in 2005.

Having the vision, strength, grit, opportunity, freedom, insight, introspection, and blessing to continue to develop/reinvent ourselves and refine our paths forward is as true a gift as it is a challenge. And I love to be a part of these conversations. On February?28th, my colleagues, board members, sponsors, partners, and I --from National Grid, Capital One, and NAAAP NY-- held a sold-out event at National Grid's Brooklyn headquarters for our Year of the Dragon professional panel. We couldn't have asked for a more rewarding night of insight and interactions while meeting new members, friends, colleagues, and industry leaders. Key takeaways most valued by our audience included: --> Identifying your?own core values?and beliefs to optimize your career pivot and explorations --> Amplifying your executive presence, as well as self-advocacy skills --> Understanding the challenges and risks associated with the path of entrepreneurship? --> How to approach salary and benefits package negotiations during each phase of growth --> Rewards?of stepping up to be either?a Mentee or Mentor Cheers to continuous growth and expansion, no matter which stage of our professional and personal journeys we find ourselves in. #Reinvention #SelfDevelopment #LeadershipGrowth #ProfessionalVision Lori C. Here’s what your top performers aren’t telling you: This week, I facilitated a day-long workshop for the 2% of top performers at a $5B company. When an unexpected “rabbit hole” appeared, we jumped straight in. Here’s what came out — and it’s not inconsistent with what we’ve heard thousands of other top performers say: ?? When poor behavior or consistently poor performance is tolerated, respect diminishes quickly. ?? They’re frustrated by colleagues not carrying their own weight, taking advantage of the autonomy and flexibility, and complaining about burnout. ?? Non-logical RTO mandates are interpreted as a power grab, or a lack of creativity at best. ?? If they have to come into the office only to Zoom with teammates not in the office, it’s a waste of their time. ?? If they don’t see a viable future, they’re likely moonlighting or interviewing. If you’re not removing barriers, you are a barrier. ?? Their decision to leave is made before they clue you in on their dissatisfaction. Question: What do you wish you knew about how your top performers think and feel?

Time, respect and holding your own weight. Top performers, as Joe Mechlinski said below, share their thoughts on what isn’t working. It reminds me of group work in school. Being stuck with people who don’t pull their weight. Doing a project that is a waste of time and energy when there is ‘real-work’ that needs to be done. And lastly, having that top performer head down a path of burnout. Your top performer won’t stay as your top performer if you aren’t listening or if you are allowing poor behaviour to continue with others. Have a read of Joe’s post below and let me know what you think.

Fascinating clip on Friendship and Sacrifice. Striking the right balance and putting a name to the sacrifice. As a coach, I encourage my clients to recognize the emotions, challenges, and actions of gratitude in acknowledging those who gave them space for growth and the support we take for granted. Who do you need to thank or reconnect with? What assumptions or misunderstandings did you make? What are some small actions you can take to reconnect, thank, or make new friends? It's always very simple in a complex environment - Start by being a Friend, better teammate, or leader to someone.

What if the sacrifices we make for our careers are costing us the most important relationships in our lives? Thank you to Trevor Noah for joining me in this discussion?and?sharing thoughts on the delicate balance between success and friendships. Video from Brilliant Minds Foundation, June 2024
