Ben's story is truly an inspiration and proves that with the right support, determination and opportunities, everyone can have sustainable and meaningful employment. Given the chance, people with disabilities can contribute meaningfully and chase their passions. The Happy Wombat must be commended for fostering such an inclusive environment. Will you also do the same? What do you need to do to support NDIS participants achieve their goals/dreams and lead fulfilling lives? #inclusionmatters #Diversity #DiversityAndInclusion #DiversityEquityAndInclusion #DiversityBlueprint #CustomisedEmployment #CustomizedEmployment #EmploymentSupports #FindingAndKeepingAJob #NDISFindingAndKeepingAJob #NDIS
Today is World Down Syndrome Day ?? Ben, who has Down syndrome, joined the NDIS during early trials in the Hunter region of New South Wales in 2014. This was the beginning of a more meaningful and independent life for Ben. Ben had a desire to learn how to 'pull a beer' and with the help of his support workers, completed a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) course and scored a job at the Happy Wombat. Ben loves working at the Happy Wombat and thinks he now pulls a pretty good beer! Ben’s story: https://bit.ly/4akhNtb
