?? In Colombia’s crop substitution programs, women must not be left behind. Did you know that while women represent nearly 30% of rural agricultural labor and play a vital role in community resilience, only 26% of them own land? ?? This gap means that many women are excluded from decision-making in programs meant to transform rural economies, perpetuating gender inequalities and economic dependence. To truly succeed, these programs need to integrate a gender perspective. Why? ?? Research shows that initiatives inclusive of women are 20-30% more likely to achieve sustainable results. Women bring unique knowledge of their communities and ecosystems, making them essential to the long-term success of rural development. By empowering women through active participation in these programs, we can: ? Break cycles of economic and symbolic violence. ? Strengthen community leadership and resilience. ? Build more equitable and sustainable rural economies.
