?? Multigenerational living is on the rise in the United States! ?? Why? It's all about preserving cultural traditions, sharing expenses and caregiving responsibilities, and combating loneliness. Plus, as people live longer, aging in place becomes more appealing, allowing loved ones to maintain their independence. ???? Different options for Multigenerational living include: 1. Basement Apartments 2. Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) (Separate dwelling like above a garage, or a separate building altogether) 3. Built In Option, like an in-law suite -Source: NAR Magazine Since there isn't a "one size fits all" solution, let's sit down, meet and discuss how we can find the ideal home for you. Yesterday I ran a poll about who you turn to for support when balancing a fulfilling career with looking after kids and/or elderly parents. Thank you to everyone who voted in the poll! The results were eye-opening: ?? Family - 38%? ?? Friends - 25%? ?? Your community - 13%? ?? Other - 25% It’s clear that support comes in many forms, and sometimes it's not where we expect. For those of us balancing caregiving with our own lives, finding the right support can be the difference between surviving and thriving. But what happens when family or friends can’t be there? Or when our community isn’t as involved as we’d like? This is where we need to start thinking outside the box and exploring new ways to lean on others—whether through online groups, professional help, or finding solidarity with others in similar situations. As Maya Angelou said, "I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it." Remember, seeking help is a strength, not a weakness. How are you making sure you're supported? #Caregivers #SupportNetwork #Resilience #Wellbeing #EscapeTheRatRace #TheRebelliousCoach

https://lnkd.in/gs5-83eb Below is a simple 3-2-1 method that helps clarify why older loved ones might resist “sensible” advice about senior living, caregiving, or assisted living, what you can do about it, and one thing to avoid. This framework is especially helpful when discussing retirement communities, in-home care, or memory care options with aging parents. 3 Reasons They Resist 1. Pride and Independence- They don’t want to appear weak. They’ve lived independently for decades and want to maintain control and independent living. 2. Inaccurate Self-Perception- They still see themselves as 15 years younger, underestimate fall risks, and sometimes make emotionally driven decisions instead of logical. 3. Fear of the Unknown- Moving to a new senior community feels like being the “new kid at school”—a stressful thought, even though it could improve social engagement and quality of life. 2 Things You Can Do 1. Listen with Empathy - Put yourself in their shoes. Acknowledge their emotional attachments to home and their desire to remain independent. 2. Explore Options & Costs - Gather information on staying home (factoring in home care or the hidden costs of family support) and assisted living or senior care communities. Present the facts so they can make a choice that fits their situation. 1 Thing to Avoid Don’t Push Too Hard - Avoid a heavy sales pitch. Instead, encourage exploration by visiting senior living facilities where they might know someone or by sharing success stories from other older adults who have made similar moves. Give David a Call

Caught between caring for your kids and your aging parents? It’s okay to ask for help and set clear boundaries. Balancing the responsibilities of caring for both your children and your aging parents can be overwhelming, but remember, you don't have to do it all alone. Seeking help from family members, friends, and professional caregivers can provide the support you need. Additionally, setting clear boundaries ensures that you have time to care for yourself as well. Prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and establish routines that work for everyone involved. By doing so, you can provide the best possible care for your loved ones without sacrificing your own well-being. It's not a sign of weakness to ask for assistance; it's a necessary step towards maintaining a healthy balance in your life. #caregiving #compassion #boundaries #RichardTransforms #communication

For over a decade, our team has been connecting with and supporting caregivers. And while the national conversation on caregiving is evolving, certain truths remain constant. Many caregivers feel isolated—like they're "the only one." The only one carrying the weight of their responsibilities, the only one in their circumstances. Ironically, there are *53 million* caregivers in the U.S. but so many feel invisible. They don’t identify as “caregivers”—they’re daughters, siblings, fathers, spouses. And because their role feels implicit, finding support can be hard. Without emotional and practical resources, they struggle to balance big roles at work and at home. The cost? Their well-being. The good news? There is another way. A little support goes a long way. For caregivers, simple acts of kindness and acknowledgment can make all the difference. This #NationalFamilyCaregiversMonth, let’s show up for the caregivers. Whether you’re a friend, family member, or employer, think of the people in your life balancing careers with caregiving—caring for an ill spouse, a parent with dementia, a child with disabilities. While caregiving may be one of the most common human experiences – ordinary, even – the responsibility is extraordinary. Let them know they aren't alone. ?? #CaregiverSupport #NationalCaregiversMonth #MentalHealth #WorkplaceWellbeing #CaregiverCommunity #FamilySupport #WorkLifeBalance #EmpathyInLeadership #Caregiving #FamilyCaregiving
