I enrolled in Amit's Stanford course, "People Analytics: How to Build a Talent Advantage." We had our first class yesterday. I wrote this note to friends and clients: AI and data analytics are becoming a required competency and without it, in my opinion, you take the risk of becoming obsolete. You're crazy not to future proof your relevance/career.?It couldn’t be easier. ? Spend 13.05 remote hours (9 classes @ 1.45 hours) + prep time for each class (couldn’t be more efficient and convenient) ? Take a course from a great institution (Standford) ? All classes are recorded so you can participate real time or at your leisure (Substitute the class for one workout per week) ? Class is pass/fail and over the 5 years Amit has taught the class, no one has failed (If you're worried about the class being too technical, it isn’t) You can register until the 2nd class – May 1.?There is no class on 4/24.?Cost is about $800. There is no way to learn so efficiently. Please contact me or Amit ([email protected]) if you have any questions. Spring is in the air, and registration opened today for my Stanford Continuing Studies BUS 147 "People Analytics: How to Build a Talent Advantage" course, running Wednesday evenings April 17-June 12, 2024. I've revamped the course as "a gentle introduction to people analytics" to fuel people analytics' growth at the base - people curious about people analytics and considering a role or career in it, newly minted people analytics leaders, and HR leaders looking for greater comfort with analytics and analytics teams. We have a stellar cast of guest speakers: Dirk Jonker (Crunchr), Eitan Vesely (Watercooler), Ernest Ng, PhD (HiredScore), Jeremy Shapiro (Merck), Neel Gandhi (McKinsey & Company), and Stela Lupushor (Reframe.Work). ? In this fifth year, I will continue to customize the course to the cohort's needs. We learn from each other and the guest speakers, and I'm available for coaching via office hours. Common sense, isn't it? Increase the funnel by applying for any opportunity where you can make a BIG DIFFERENCE.?When you get the job, expand your responsibilities where they will have the biggest impact. Volunteer to do more. Start work early and stay late. Consider having an employee at the company use the EMPLOYEE REFERRAL program to submit your CUSTOMIZED RESUME & COVER LETTER for the job. This puts you ahead of others who apply through the internet. You have so much to offer so TAYLOR your resume to the position. Have fun picturing yourself in the position and using the STAR METHOD to SHOW not TELL your story on your resume & COVER LETTER. Standout by using a COVER LETTER with 2-3 bullet points to SHOW why you are unique, interesting & fun. Use the curiosity this generates in the reader to motive the reader to reach out to you. FOLLOW-UP - Searching for the right job is discouraging. Did you know it takes 9 follow-ups to get a return response from 90% of those you contact? Use multiple ways to follow up - phone call at different times of the day or week; an email not just asking for a response - research the company or person to show you care and are insightful and include it in your follow-ups.. GET CREATIVE.
