Do you remember when Snapchat first launched their Spectacles? They were a bold attempt to bring wearable technology into the mainstream, but they didn't quite hit the mark. Reports surfaced about warehouses filled with unsold units. A big part of the challenge was that the design didn't fully consider human factors engineering - essentially, how comfortable and user-friendly a product is for people. Now, Snapchat is venturing back into the world of wearable tech with their new Augmented Reality (AR) glasses. This raises an interesting question: Have they addressed the previous shortcomings to create a product that's both functional and comfortable? ?????? ?????????? ?????????????? ???? ???????????????? - Ergonomics and Comfort: For AR glasses to be adopted widely, they need to fit well, be lightweight, and comfortable for long-term use. - Usability: The interface should be intuitive, allowing users to interact with digital elements seamlessly without a steep learning curve. - Practicality: Beyond cool features, the glasses need to add real value to daily life - whether that's through enhanced navigation, information display, or interactive experiences. For this reason, they made sure to close a partnership with Luxottica until 2030. If the partnership were exclusive, Meta would have an incredible edge over other smartglass manufacturers in trying to reach a consumer audience.
