We're looking for someone with experience across a React/Typescript/Next.js/Tailwind stack to help us architect and implement our frontend codebase. I'm hoping for a few things from applicants: 1. Autonomy. We're a growing team. We need people to be able to share the load in terms of maintenance tasks and feature development. That capacity has to be multi-talented and self-directed. If you already know how to discuss technical requirements, give feedback to product teams, write technical documentation, perform and receive code reviews, and manage personal tasks, then you might be the person that we're looking for. 2. Experience. We want people who have used certain technologies long enough to have opinions on the right and wrong ways to do things. We want people who've already found some of the sharp edges or gone underneath the surface of the tools that they're using. We thrive on pairing and discussion. If you like talking code as much as we do and have the knowledge and experience to help shape our technical roadmap, I'd like to talk to you. 3. Curiosity. Our team is small enough that we often need to wear many hats. I don't need someone who is an expert on CI/CD systems to join me. But I would like to see someone interested enough in the Software Development Lifecycle that they want to learn and have their hand in it. We've already set up our infrastructure, but I'd love to work with someone who's actively interested in network topologies and willing to share that knowledge. We write our own SQL queries, so I hope for someone that can author rudimentary queries but with the desire to improve. If you've ever used a React hook and wondered "How does `useState` actually work?", then I'd like to explore it with you. In return, I'm happy to commit to supporting our future engineer so that they grow in their role with us. I want this to be an excellent opportunity to do work that you can be proud of while also growing your knowledge of modern web apps and networks in both breadth and depth. *** I also don't want anyone to read the job description and immediately self-select out of it because they don't meet all of the requirements. Hiring; Senior Software Engineering roles – TypeScript, Golang, GraphQL, gRPC, GCP - $150-180k + super + options – Hybrid three days a week from the office in Sydney. tekFinder have a range of new roles for a lean, high-performance engineering team of 20 for a global digital healthcare product business with over 100,000 active customers. They work at pace, so expectations are high. The engineering team is senior-heavy, and we want to continue that trend, so there’s no time for hand-holding. Their GraphQL layer is in TypeScript. Front End is TypeScript/React, and microservices can be either TypeScript (Node) or Golang. They have circa 40-50 microservices in production. The bulk of the backend is in Node, but a big trend is moving to Golang. When a new microservice needs to be built, engineers can choose between Golang or TypeScript. For this reason, if you’re an engineer who doesn’t know typescript or Golang, it will be hard to get a job here. We’re happy to speak to specialists, so if you’re more inclined towards the backend or front end, there will be a place for you on the team. They are in the process of migrating some of the old monoliths to the new platform, which will require a significant amount of work over the next couple of years. I recently got interviewed for a frontend engineer role for the SDE2 position Here’s the hiring process - 1??Screening of Resumes: The recruiter contacted me via Linkedin. 2??Javascript Coding Round -I was given an hour to develop a tic-tac-toe application I was allowed to utilize React and other JavaScript frameworks. They wanted to see how well I could write code, so they asked me a few questions about the solution's approach. I was also free to use Google to find any API references. 3??Machine Coding Round - For the first five to ten minutes, I was asked simple Javascript questions. After that, I received the problem statement, which instructed me to build a "publisher-subscriber library."In an hour, I was supposed to write and test the code. High-Level Design Round - I had to create something that resembled a "Jira" application. Taking care of things like data retrieval, taking into account APIs, maintaining accessibility, minimizing network latency, and examining many options for each strategy. I was free to select any framework. 4??Culture Fit Round - The majority of the questions were not technical. I was questioned about things like how I would handle disagreements with my manager, team leader, and myself. 5??Team Fit Round - I was not taken into consideration because of the timelines of this round's delay.
