At Evia Sustainable Real Estate, we diligently track and analyse energy consumption and expenditure for several clients, providing them with detailed insights and actionable data. The ongoing measurement and management of consumption and expenditure allow our clients to actively manage and forecast energy expenses, especially important given the fluctuation in energy prices over the past 24 months. The reintroduction of the PSO Levy in October will result in increased energy costs for consumers. For Medium/Large commercial energy consumers, the proposed Levy will be charged on a capacity basis at €1.37 per kVa of supply. Here’s an example for clarity: Medium-Sized Shopping Centre Maximum Import Capacity: 250 kVa (available on your electricity bill) Monthly Charge: 250 kVa x €1.37 = €342.50 (€4,110 per annum) For the example site above, this results in an approximate 3% increase in annual electricity expenditure. Monitoring electricity costs is crucial for our clients from a budgeting perspective.
