Every once in awhile, we get the opportunity to work alongside people who share our vision to an extent that it is both exhilarating and utterly unbelievable. I'm so grateful to have crossed paths with Enrique Godreau III in Downtown #Bremerton some 6 years ago, and am ever more grateful that he has embraced my hopes and dreams for Matchstick Lab and the future of #Kitsap as the go-to place to launch and grow businesses that benefit the region, and bring value to the world. "We exist in a world--especially in this country--in a world of abundance. There is an abundance of everything. And we have proven time and time and time again that we *know* how to produce prosperity. ?? "But if you say it enough,?that--nope--there's scarcity, and you really do need to protect those things that you have, then we compromise the opportunities that we are unaware of that are still in front of us that we don't know about. ?? "Kitsap is a beautiful place to live... after coming back from my RV trip, we thought we would be coming back to this side of the pond, but decided that Seattle had changed quite a bit. We liked the region but wanted to explore other opportunities and ended up settling in the Kitsap Peninsula, where we're really loving it. It's really quite an experience. ?? "And so, working together with Alanna, we're trying to create a new effort there that we're calling Matchstick Lab to help promote entrepreneurship in that region. So folding in some of the lessons that we've learned along the way, some of the resources... ?? It's this notion of being able to say no, I want to be able to have a viable growth opportunity *where I am*. And so, if we can find ways of codifying that and accelerating that -- and there's an interest in doing that. But matching that interest with the capital and the leadership and the insight to be able to drive that is critical to being able to move that forward. ?? "So at Matchstick Lab, we're really focused on the education aspect, we're very focused on the investment aspect, and then finally, the storytelling aspect. The storytelling is really key of being able to bring the resources together, the public-private partnerships, recognize the goals, and allow that to surface. There are examples of good success cases [around the globe], but there aren't structured ways of being able to share that insight. So we're trying to find ways of getting that to happen for all of our benefit here in the Puget Sound region, but then have more proof-positive cases of what can happen in other parts of the world, too." #kitsapconnected #entrepreneurship #innovation #BornatVibe

This is cool. Wall graphics are an effective way to passively reinforce organizational values or visual management. Being able to print directly on the wall makes it easier. If it could print on glass then another usage scenario could be glass store fronts.

Always enjoy an opportunity to talk about the importance of entrepreneurship policy and new, young company growth in the US. Businesses under 5 years old create the most net new jobs in America. Yet, policies makes it harder on them to start and grow. Reducing barriers to entrepreneurship and growing entrepreneurial opportunity is key. I strongly believe in the saying "A rising tide lifts all boats" and wanted to share some of the entrepreneurial competitions I've been pursuing. A 30-second advertisement for the Super Bowl has increasingly become more expensive over the last decade as viewership for the event continues to grow each year. Tiger Cage Finalists Sound Off. The concept behind Auburn’s Tiger Cage pitch competition is based on providing for “the real life needs of entrepreneurs, and it's based on things that I experienced as a CEO going out and pitching my company for funding,” says Mark Forchette, the impetus behind Tiger Cage, who opened this year’s finals competition. “Tiger Cage is a year-long effort that leads to today, which is the final pitch competition for these teams vying for the first prize. That's exactly like what real life companies go through.
