The Netherlands will purchase 22 Skyranger 30 short-range air defense systems based on the ACSV Gen 5 tracked armored vehicles The Dutch Ministry of Defence expects to sign a contract in the near future, with deliveries scheduled for 2028. The goal is to provide the armed forces with mobile short-range air defense systems against drones, helicopters and low-flying aircraft. The system will be integrated into the Ground-Based Air Defence Command at Vredepel, where an additional 125 troops will be stationed.

They propose financing and work on updates and improvements to the units. They offer a technology transfer so that Argentina can carry out maintenance and repairs locally. The estimated cost per helicopter would be around 2 million dollars, to which the equipment updates must be added. #ElbitSystems, the Israeli firm with experience in modernizing UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters, presented a proposal to the Argentine Army. They offer work and financing to improve the units decommissioned by the US. The company is currently also in charge of modernizing 74 TAM battle tanks in #Argentina. In addition, the company is willing to carry out a technology transfer so that Argentina can perform maintenance and repairs locally. This was announced as a benefit for the national industry, considering that Elbit Systems is a globally recognized company for its capabilities in advanced avionics and weaponry systems. Regarding the technical improvements to be implemented in the units, the modernization would include greater load capacity and range, new defensive systems, and the ability to carry more sophisticated weaponry. There would be the possibility of extending the program in the future for a second batch of helicopters if necessary.

The Hungarian Ministry of Defence announced on May 13 the delivery of two new H225 multi-role helicopters from Airbus Helicopters, increasing Hungarian Defence Forces' fleet of H225Ms to a total of eight. The initial pair of H225M helicopters was delivered in the summer of 2023. The Hungarian government had previously entered into a contract with Airbus in 2018 for a total of 16 helicopters. The new H225Ms are set to replace the ageing Mi-17 helicopters currently in service, signaling a significant upgrade in both technology and capability. The ongoing modernization extends beyond just these helicopters; in June 2018, Hungary also signed for 20 Airbus H145M helicopters, delivered in configurations suitable for multi-role transport, search and rescue operations, and combat purposes. Expanding Airborne Capabilities with Two More H225M Helicopters. Two new H225M aircraft will join the fleet of the Kiss József 86th Helicopter Brigade of the Hungarian Defense Forces in Szolnok (Central-Hungary), Magyar Nemzet reports. The new high-tech equipment will further strengthen the paratroop and airborne capabilities of the Hungarian Air Force. In cooperation with French Airbus and the Hungarian Defense Forces, the brigade’s H225M helicopter fleet has already been expanded to ten aircraft, so more than half of the total H225M fleet of 16 aircraft is now in Hungary. As reported, the brigade received its first helicopters on July 24 last year, and the equipment has been arriving steadily since then. In line with NATO’s expectations, Hungary has met the two percent budget level for military spending for the second consecutive year, with 20 percent of the budget being spent on development under the military development program. FactThe H225M is a robust medium tactical transport helicopter equipped with two Turbomeca Makila 2A1 engines, offering up to 2,100 horsepower for short take-offs. It boasts folding rotor blades with a 20,000-hour lifespan and can carry 28 soldiers or 10 VIPs. With a maximum payload of 4,750 kg externally, it supports diverse missions including troop transport, medical evacuation with 11 stretchers, and cargo delivery up to 4,000 kg. Advanced features include an RDR-1600 radar, four-channel autopilot, and EGPWS (enhanced ground proximity warning system) for enhanced safety during low-altitude flights. L3Harris Technologies has announced its partnership with Airbus Helicopters to supply WESCAM MX-15D electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensor systems for the Bundeswehr (German Federal Armed Forces) new fleet of H145M helicopters.
