There are two kinds of families in this world – one bound by blood and another forged through a shared commitment to truly understand and care for one another, strengthened by acts of kindness, compassion, and boundless love. In his lifetime, our founder, Robert Bosch, was devoted not only to improving the well-being of his associates but also to uplifting the society around him. He turned strangers into family through the smiles he inspired, the hands he reassured, and the hope he kindled in countless hearts. Today, the Bosch India Foundation continues this legacy, driving meaningful change in areas like Skill Development, Environment and Water Conservation, Education, Healthcare, and Integrated Community Development. #BoschCares is more than just a platform for sharing stories of change, progress and transformation; it is a tribute to our founder, whose enduring vision continues to guide and inspire everything we do. India has one of the largest schooling systems in the world, serving over 250 million students. Yet, more than 50% of children in the country face significant challenges in accessing quality education after primary school. This gap has widened over the years due to various factors, and at its most critical point, we find the most vulnerable group – girls and young women. In this debut edition of #BoschCares, we spotlight the educational initiatives of Bosch in India, aimed at uplifting girls and young women, particularly in rural areas where geographical barriers and entrenched social beliefs severely limit access to quality education. From empowering underprivileged children through creative learning programs to enhancing early childhood education in Anganwadis, our initiatives are thoughtfully designed to ensure a brighter future for young learners across the country. Stay tuned for more updates on the causes closest to our hearts. #BoschCares #BoschIndiaFoundation #BoschIndiaSocialEngagement #SocialImpact #CommunitySupport #EducationForAll #GirlChild #Youth #WomenEmpowerment #GivingBack #SocialGood #MakeADifference ? I had this opportunity to visit this village school of girls recently. We gifted them some bicycles. They were ecstatic. This meant a big change & encouragement for them. The daily commute & troubles associated would come down now. It'll be easy for them to continue coming to school. I strongly believe that the future of India’s progress rests on the shoulders of our girls. Educating girls is not just about providing knowledge; it’s about unlocking their potential to uplift entire communities. When we educate a girl, we empower her to dream bigger, achieve more, and, in turn, contribute to the growth of our nation. Why is it important? → Education equips girls with the tools to become leaders, thinkers, and changemakers. → Sports and play teach discipline, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that are crucial for their personal and professional growth. → When we invest in girls' education, we’re not just helping one individual; we’re enabling generations of change. Studies show that educated women are more likely to contribute to the economy, raise healthier families, and advocate for community development. Imagine the impact if we focused on educating every girl in our villages. We would witness the rise of a truly Viksit Bharat. #GirlEducation #ViksitBharat #Empowerment #EducationForAll #MohitYadav

Because when we educate one child, we're not just teaching them. We're opening doors to new opportunities, dreams, and a future they can shape. But Here's the challenge: ? Our Mission: Through the Rural Digital Academy and other impactful programs, we're reaching out to the heart of India's villages. We're not just teaching the 3 Rs (reading, 'riting, 'rithmetic). We're sparking curiosity, nurturing talents, and building the foundation for sustainable livelihoods. We're talking about: 1?? Digital skills that open up a world of possibilities. 2?? Entrepreneurship training that transforms villagers into business owners. 3?? Environmental education that makes every child a planet warrior. Every child deserves a chance to shine. With your support, we can light up more paths. Whether you're a professional, a corporation, or someone who believes in making a difference, there's a role for you. Join us in this journey. In the heart of rural India, countless children face the daily struggle of accessing quality education. Many walk miles to reach dilapidated schools with insufficient infrastructure, while others battle hunger that stifles their ability to learn. Girls often face additional barriers, from safety concerns to societal pressures, preventing them from pursuing their dreams. Recognizing these challenges, the government has launched several initiatives to transform the educational landscape and give every child a chance to succeed. Mid-Day Meal Scheme (MDMS): - Provides free lunches in government and government-aided primary and upper primary schools. - Increases enrollment and attendance, especially among girls and marginalized groups. - Improves the nutritional status and cognitive abilities of children. - Enhances community participation in program management. Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA): - Focuses on inclusive education, infrastructure development, teacher training, and reducing educational gaps. - Achieves near-universal enrollment for ages 6-14 and reduces dropout rates. - Constructs over 200,000 classrooms and improves school facilities. - Emphasizes the education of girls and children with disabilities. Padhe Bharat Badhe Bharat (PBBB): - Improves foundational literacy and numeracy for classes I and II. - Enhances reading and arithmetic skills. - Provides extensive teacher training. - Increases parental involvement in early education. National Programme for Education of Girls at Elementary Level (NPEGEL): - Supports girls' education in backward areas. - Increases enrollment and retention rates for girls. - Enhances community support for girls' education. Operation Blackboard: - Ensures at least two classrooms and two teachers per primary school. - Improves infrastructure and teacher availability. - Provides essential teaching-learning materials. - Enhances the overall quality of education. These government initiatives are a beacon of hope, ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has the opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve their dreams. By addressing the fundamental barriers to education, India is paving the way for a brighter, more equitable future. . . “Of the 97 fellows selected that year, I was the only rural college graduate. There was no one there who looked like me or spoke like me. I felt alienated, intimidated and judged by many.” - Asweetha Shetty In a country as diverse as #India, the road to #education is not a simple one. It’s a journey that billions of #children embark on,?but only a fraction of them are able to sustain its demands and obstacles. From geographical isolation to economic constraints, from gender disparities to lack of resources— the basic right of education conferred to every citizen by the #Indian #constitution, remains a luxury for some. Bridging the urban-rural divide, Meet Roshni Nadar Malhotra who turned a dream of equal opportunity into a reality. A dream where every girl, no matter how poor, could get a quality education. Roshni's journey with education began when she saw a young boy in her village whose biggest dream was to become a driver. It struck her – with the right opportunities, these bright minds could achieve so much more. This desire to empower underprivileged youth, especially girls, led Roshni to team up with her father, Shiv Nadar, who shared her passion for social change. Together, they envisioned a school unlike any other – a place where potential wouldn't be limited by circumstance. In 2009, that vision became a reality with the birth of VidyaGyan Leadership Academy in rural Uttar Pradesh where she actively shaped the school's approach. Here's what made VidyaGyan special: ? Focus on girls: Roshni knew that educating girls has a ripple effect, strengthening families and communities. ? Free, residential education: This removed financial barriers and allowed girls to fully focus on their studies. ? Project-based learning: Goodbye rote memorisation, hello critical thinking, and real-world application! And guess what, the results have been phenomenal. VidyaGyan graduates are cracking into the top colleges, proving that with the right support, girls from rural areas can achieve anything. #Schools #Youth #Achievers

Government Initiatives Paving the Way for Girls' Education. Despite remarkable progress, girls around the world face staggering challenges. 1 in 5 never complete lower secondary school, and they spend millions more hours than boys on unpaid care work. ? In my view, while these girls continue to inspire us, it's our collective responsibility to provide them with the tools and opportunities they deserve, it’s a global necessity. Education is the key, and several government initiatives are working to unlock that potential. Here are a few making a significant impact: 1?? Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV): Provides quality education for disadvantaged girls (SC/ST/OBC, minorities) through residential schools, from classes VI to XII. 2?? Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao: Launched in 2015, this initiative focuses on awareness, protection, and education of girls, ensuring their rights and survival. 3?? National Scheme of Incentives to Girls for Secondary Education: Deposits Rs. 3,000 for eligible girls, encouraging them to pursue secondary education and withdraw the funds upon reaching 18. 4?? Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY): A savings scheme for families to secure their daughter’s future education and well-being, maturing when she turns 21. 5?? CBSE Udaan Scheme: Provides mentoring and support for girls pursuing STEM, preparing them for engineering entrance exams. As we champion these initiatives, let’s remember: investing in girls isn’t just a moral imperative—it’s a pathway to a brighter, more equitable future. When we empower a girl, we spark a ripple effect of change that touches entire communities. - Charu Jain #InternationalDayOfTheGirl #GirlsEducation #EmpowerGirls #IndiaEmpowers
