Today, is #NationalNonprofitDay, I want to recognize the nonprofits that are doing important work in their communities. I particularly want to turn your attention to Live To Give MN. This Corporation is organized exclusively for charitable purposes, more specifically to educate, bring awareness, provide resources, and be a positive force in the health and well-being of children, families, the poor and the infirmed, and the environment in Minnesota by providing funding, programming and other events and activities to further research and programs targeted at these communities. https://lnkd.in/g2dKJg3y

A few sobering stats from the "Household Food Insecurity in Canada, 2022"? report: ? 22.9% of households in Newfoundland and Labrador experienced some degree of food insecurity in the previous 12 months, amounting to 116,000 people. ? This is the highest rate in any of the ten provinces in Canada. ? 28.8% of children under 18 in Newfoundland and Labrador lived in food-insecure households. Since 2022, NLCU has held its annual NLCU Fall Food Drive to help support individuals and families in Newfoundland and Labrador who experience food insecurity to get the nourishment they need. Here's the thing to remember this Giving Tuesday: Donors already have the resources to equip grassroots nonprofits with everything they need. There are $228.89 billion in charitable assets sitting in donor-advised funds (DAFs) in the United States. On average, only 22.5% is actually granted out each year. The rest just sits there. We started our Get Off Your Assets campaign as a call to our partners to move more money, more urgently to historically marginalized communities. And our community answered the call: Tides Foundation DAF partners give double the national average.
