Applications are now open for the 2025 YSP! Our Young Scientist Program (YSP) is one of the best opportunities on the planet for early career scholars to take part in research, learn about science communication, and explore how ethics and moral philosophy apply to science and society. The program is open to undergraduate students and those who’ve completed undergraduate studies (but have not started graduate school). The program takes place from 1 June through 31 August, and most of the projects can be conducted online. Those interested in applying should review our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) Document for specific questions on eligibility and how to successfully apply. Here is a brief snapshot of program specifics: ? Applications are due by 11 April ? Applicants select specific projects from the list of available projects to which they wish to apply. ? Every applicant must submit a brief essay about the project as well as a short writing about their interest in the program ? Applications require two (2) letters of recommendation ? There is a $20 USD application fee ? Students who can not afford the fee may still be considered (there is a fee waiver lottery that allows some who cannot afford the fee to still have an opportunity in the program). ? Those who are accepted in the program become Research Associates at BMSIS! We highly encourage eligible early career scholars to apply to this program. The YSP has now had over 300 participants over the years, many of whom have continued on to remarkable experiences in research, business, communication, and more. Many of our past YSP participants are now graduate students or working in fulfilling jobs in a variety of industries and realms.
