The?Cameron Peak Reforestation Group (CPRG)?formed in response to the Cameron Peak Fire, the largest fire in Colorado history. It burned more than 200,000 acres in northern Colorado in 2020, and more than half of that area burned at high severity. The group works collaboratively to bring resources to help landowners recover and reforest following the Cameron Peak and High Park fires. ? Since 2021, CPRG has worked together with hundreds of volunteers, business partners, and donors to plant more than 35,000 trees. We would not be able to do this work without the support of our local community. And of course, with so much interest in tree planting, we get a lot of questions about our reforestation efforts. Last week, Maryland reached a major conservation milestone — after setting its “30 by 30” goal in 2023, the state announced that, as of February 2024, it had reached this goal six years ahead of schedule. This means that the state has already conserved more than 1.85 million acres out of Maryland’s 6.1 million acres of total land area. ? State leaders credit partnership as key to this conservation success, including working closely with local governments, nonprofit land trusts, conservation organizations, federal agencies, and landowners. Maryland is now looking towards its next milestone — conserving 40% of land by 2040. ?? ?? #FieldNotes: After destroying more than 2,500 homes and businesses, the largest recorded wildfire in Oregon state history left multiple communities along Highway 99 looking to recover. Known as the Bear Creek Greenway, the region came together as part of a unique area action plan with unified goals. With input directly from community advisory committees, the revisioning process positioned the corridor to come back even stronger than before the Almeda Fire. "It’s unusual to do long-range planning for multiple jurisdictions…Following the Almeda Fire, the unique goals of each community impacted were addressed with project advisory committees to create a unified corridor revisioning." Blue Ridge Parkway reopens first stretch of road in North Carolina

You know what they say... a picture is worth a thousand words. In this photograph you can see healthy, restored Country bursting with life on the left; on the right, over the fence, is an opportunity to turn cleared land into a thriving, connected ecosystem. This photograph shows the fence line that separates Bush Heritage's Red Moort Reserve from a neighbouring property in the south-west of Western Australia. Just down the road, a similar fence line exists between our Monjebup Reserve and a property with the wonderful name of Dodgey Downs. Bush Heritage is currently fundraising to purchase Dodgey Downs. This strategic acquisition would allow us to do what we do best - applying the best science, Indigenous knowledge and world-leading land management practices to restore the landscape and bring the bush back to good health.
