According to a Vermont Department of Health report released in 2023, one in six Vermont adults say they have poor mental health. That statistic alone proves that many of our members need access to quality mental health care.? “Mental health is just as important as physical health,” says Chief Medical Officer Tom Weigel MD, MBA. “By removing barriers and expanding access to care, we’re ensuring that our members can get the support they need when they need it.” We’re focused on improving access and removing barriers to care by:? ??Eliminating prior approval for all in-state, in-network mental health services and substance use disorder treatments? ??Offering virtual and face-to-face therapy support options for all members? ??Providing access to a network of over 2,600 mental health therapists ? ??Collaborating with care partners on innovative programs like Vermont Collaborative Care (VCC) which integrates mental health with physical health care?
