Why is Momentum Waikato fundraising for the new Medieval Garden at the Hamilton Gardens, when an entry fee to its Enclosed Gardens is being introduced for people from out of town? Entry fees and rates = maintaining and managing the existing Enclosed Gardens and the rest of the Gardens estate. Whereas, our current fundraising campaign = development of the new Medieval Garden. The simple fact is that the creation of new gardens at the Hamilton Gardens over the last forty-odd years has always required fundraising to a greater or lesser degree. The Hamilton City Council runs, maintains and invests in the entire Gardens estate, all of which to date has been solely funded by Hamilton ratepayers, and it is these needs that will be supported by the new entry fee. Every ticket purchased to enter the Enclosed Gardens will go into ensuring the Gardens continue to be world class, can provide great visitor service, and can create new experiences in the existing spaces. The public stage of our fundraising campaign is aimed at attracting the $300,000 required to reach the full $2.2 million budget required to complete the Medieval Garden and open it next year. Donations of any size and/or over several payments are most welcome – please visit https://lnkd.in/g8_bqQXs to find out more and/or donate. This picture below shows the location of the three new gardens currently in development, all at the western end of the Enclosed Gardens.

Today marks one year since Cyclone Gabrielle battered down on the Hawke's Bay and Tairawhiti (Gisborne). Last year, the team at Mackersy Property set out on a fundraising mission called ‘Grunt for Gabrielle’, to raise funds for the Hawke's Bay Regional Council and Gisborne District Council. The Grunt for Gabrielle was a unique 12-hour endurance event in Arrowtown, Mt Maunganui & Christchurch, to raise as much money as possible while combining our kilometres to cover the 1,640km gap between Queenstown and Gisborne. ? Across those three locations, the Mackersy Property team, plus supporters and local businesses, covered 2,103.3km and everyone's support helped us to raise $27,376.30. We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported us on that massive challenge! ? With their donation funds, the Hawke's Bay Regional Council has so far restored vital infrastructure and are working hard to support their community, and looking to the future and how they can build environmental resilience to major climate events. Their funding is based on community interventions to move and keep properties out of category 2, and reduce the number of category 3 properties. ? Donations to the Gisborne District Council have been prioritised for recovery to address the immediate needs of affected communities, by repairing and exploring resilience options for damaged infrastructure and implement mitigation measures to reduce risks from future weather events. A recovery plan will focus on 4 key environments -?built, natural, economic and social. ?? Click here to see where Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is committing their funds: https://lnkd.in/g-mUWEhz ?? Tanka Fund is dedicated to aiding rancher partners in returning Buffalo to their ancestral lands by providing necessary infrastructure. A crucial aspect of this support involves helping ranchers construct specific fencing to safely manage their Buffalo herds. One Native rancher is close to completing his fencing project, which will allow him to care for up to 150 Buffalo. Financial contributions are needed to help finish the remaining 5? miles of fencing. The cost of fencing is approximately $34 per foot, and donations are crucial to help complete the remaining fencing this summer. Help us in this effort by donating at this link: https://lnkd.in/gxiTTAfB ?? #TankaFund #BuffaloConservation #SupportNativeRanchers #WildlifePreservation #ProtectTheBuffalo #SustainableRanching #NativeAmericanHeritage #EcoFriendlyFarming #BuffaloFencingProject #ConservationEfforts #WildlifeProtection #SupportIndigenousCommunities #BuffaloRestoration #DonateForACause #WildlifeSupport #CulturalPreservation #IndigenousLandManagement #HelpSaveTheBuffalo #BuffaloHeritage #SustainableAgriculture #LandsLivesEconomies #Buffalo #Bison #TheReturn #NativeAmerican #ClimateRestoration #CommunityEmpowerment #EnvironmentalSustainability #BuffaloRanching #TankaImpact

“Why can’t Tun Tavern once again stand in Philadelphia?”? We wanted to provide everyone an update on the status of the rebuilding of The Tun TODAY, the idea of rebuilding The Tun originated in 2015. While there had been earlier attempts to rebuild the tavern, none were like this. Past attempts did not include the other organizations that can trace their origins to The Tun. Once the decision was made to “rebuild”, the other organizations were contacted, & a “coalition” was formed with all 6 organizations with a heritage at Tun Tavern: Pennsylvania Freemasons, Society of Saint George, Saint Andrews Society, Sons of Saint Patrick, USMC & USN. In 2021, the search for a location commenced, to give The Tun’s eventual patrons the experience of colonial Philadelphia. The land chosen is currently a parking lot, about 250 yards from the original location.? From the start organizers insisted that the re-established Tun should be a functioning tavern, but operate as a non-profit with all operating profits donated to veteran charities, masonic charities, & scholarships.??“Tun Tavern Legacy Foundation”,??was formally created in February 2021, & registered as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation with the stated mission “To rebuild & re-establish The Tun? as it was, a functioning mariner’s tavern reminiscent of colonial Philadelphia, serving period-influenced refreshments, food, entertainment & offering an educational experience through exhibits, historical documents, & special events.”??The Foundation, headquartered in Philadelphia, with representation on its Board of Directors from each of the six “coalition” organizations, is tasked with the rebuilding of The Tun, oversee its management, & the eventual distribution of profits to veteran, masonic, and educational charities. Since the creation of the Foundation, progress has been considerable. In October 2023, an Agreement of Sale was signed to purchase the required land. In November 2023, an architect, engineer, and construction manager were formally under contract. In December of 2023 the Board of Directors were ratified and adopted the Foundation’s formal bylaws.??While the bulk of the historical research has been accomplished, ongoing research continues for clarification purposes. Initial environmental testing has also been completed & a zoning application is currently being readied for submission.? While much has been accomplished to ensure the completion of this goal, there is much remaining. In February 2024, we are set to close the land deal; June 2024 the design, zoning and permitting is on schedule to be completed. The goal is to have the groundbreaking and construction begin in November 2024 with the grand opening, 10 November 2025. We are now in full fund-raising mode. There are multiple ways you can help see this dream become reality. Our social enterprise, ecoDynamics Nursery ?? Five years ago, we transformed our Victorian wholesale nursery into ecoDynamics Nursery - a hub of sustainability and community impact. Committed to eco-friendly practices and community education, we are dedicated to creating greener futures. At ecoDynamics, we make a significant impact through our Grassroots Impact Program by donating 50% of our Nursery profit to Greening the West. Our contributions extend beyond urban greening to combat climate change and promote sustainability. To date, we have donated over 60,000 trees and provided $20,000 in mulch site preparation throughout Melbourne's western suburbs. We're taking our impact even further by making a submission for the entire ecoDynamics Group to become a B Corp. Exciting times - stay tuned. Friends: As many of you know, I have been honored with being selected to participate in the Leadership Paulding class #34 through the Paulding County Chamber of Commerce - Georgia for 2023-2024. As part of this program, we are performing a service project as a way to give back and improve upon our local county and the community. 2023-2024 LP34 Service Project: Truth In Nature - Dock We are trying to raise funds to build a lake dock fit for boating, fishing, and swimming for Truth in Nature at their reservation in Rockmart. During peak periods, they have as many as 40 boys and their mentors at the lake. Presently, they have no dock and the only way to get in and out or close to the water is the old-fashioned way — through the mud. Truth in Nature is an outdoor ministry that exists to reach, inspire, support, and engage boys from fatherless single-parent homes. They are taught to understand their purpose as Christian Men in an outdoor setting with volunteers who care about them — and about breaking the existing fatherless cycle locally and across America today. Within the next 60 days, we are seeking to raise $25k or more for this much-needed project and we simply cannot do it without your help. 100% of all proceeds raised will be used for the dock or, if we have enough funds, additional projects and/or equipment for Truth In Nature. Truth In Nature, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and all donations are tax deductible. No amount is too small (I mean that…). Please click the link below and select “Leadership Paulding - Dock Fund” from the Fund dropdown menu on the donation form. https://lnkd.in/dGwAj6GD
