Today marks the end of Disability Pride Month. During this month, we've been raising awareness, celebrating disability advocates and activists, highlighting individual success and accomplishments, and starting conversations about how we can all be better allies. And we won't stop doing so after today. We recognise that there is still much more to do to ensure that the needs of disabled people are met equitably. Latest research from?Accenture?in partnership with?Disability:IN?and?American Association of People with Disabilities?found that companies that lead on key disability inclusion criteria benefit from 1.6x more revenue, 2.6x more net income, and 2x more economic profit. The key criteria being that which is outlined in the Disability Equality Index. A leading global benchmarking tool proving to help improve disability inclusion policies and practices across organizations that take part. The research also sought to understand specific challenges companies face when striving to improve disability inclusion. Committee of Racial Equity(C.O.R.E) The committee is dedicated to addressing and dismantling systemic racial inequalities within the field of social work. Through advocacy, education, and policy initiatives, the committee strives to promote racial equity and inclusivity in social work practice, ensuring that professionals are equipped to navigate diverse and multicultural environments. LGBTQIA+ Committee The committee works to promote inclusive policies, raise awareness about LGBTQIA+ issues in social work, and create a welcoming and affirming environment for both professionals and the diverse populations they serve. DisABILITY Rights Committee The committee works towards fostering an inclusive and ACCESSIBLE environment within the field of social work, aiming to eliminate barriers, challenge stigma, and advocate for policies that enhance the well-being and empowerment of people with disabilities.
