Intra-moot court competitions and how they taught me more than any other moot Moot courts teach one a lot of things, and while research and advocacy forms an important part of it, so does initiative, cooperation, understanding and alertness. I am yet to come across a moot court story wherein everything went perfectly, and I think in this lies essence of it, the challenges a moot court poses. While national moot court competitions come with thorough preparation and the supervision of professors and mentors, it is through the intra moot court competitions that I think the perseverance and confidence of a student actually gets tested, because while it is quite an art to convince the judges, it is just intimidating to stand before them when one has not had any experience of doing so. I would not be in a position of regarding my experience at NASCENT and ASCENT so successful if it were not for my partner, Devyani Makhija. We realised the importance of coordination and working separately yet together through our preparation for both the moots. While we kept our expectations to the bare minimum and only intended to give the moot our best shot, our selection in the moot court society and the subsequent moots we participated in made us believe that we had something to offer, and by the time we sat for the next moot, the experiences we had gained as a part of the society helped us navigate our preparation in the right direction. The insights from this preparation is what makes me believe that we will always be mooters..
