I question how much human centred design is really happening on some services. You have food delivery apps sending notifications constantly with deals on to entice you to order more and more take out food. Is that really whats best for the human on the receiving end? Is it what's best for society and for the planet too? Is human centred design fit for purpose anymore? Here’s another project I’ve been working on that has potential, an interactive map of architectural landmarks. Both when I was an architecture student and as a licensed architect, I often wanted an easier way to find landmark buildings by location, style, or type. This would’ve been especially useful while traveling, as I love discovering modern and historical buildings nearby. One important lesson I learned in design last week: Design is rarely black and white. There are no strict rules, only best practices and guidelines. Context is everything in design. What works for one app might not work for another because of different dynamics. As you develop your solutions, let patterns in your work become guidelines, not rules. This helps you stay open to new ideas and diverse approaches. #Design #GrowthMindset #DesignSystem

Too often designers start researching after a task is assigned. By this time, the outcome of such design is usually an interpretation of an idea already present on Dribbble/ competitor apps etc. Maintaining a commonplace/visual library which is a "slow burn" over time of research done by the designer across different disciplines of inspiration ensures that when a project kick-off happens, there is a recall of all that visual library into a truly original output. #uxdesign #designthinking
