What's it like to create a 19,000+% increase in helping your clients reach clients? It looks a bit like this. Not every client starts big. Some start from 0. And, when we help create results like this, we celebrate —?and track —?what it means for their business. One of the things I learned in my Tory Burch Foundation Advisory call this last week from Gay Gaddis is that a secret to scaling is to get ALL the data. As a creative, that can be a growing edge. Thankfully, each of my team members thinks as strategically as we do creatively. We heard her advice and got right down to it. What wins are you celebrating this week? #brandingagency #marketingagency #aanhpi #womenfounder #womeninbusiness #marketingtips

The NFL's double standard over the Harrison Butker controversy is the reason DEI exists. A couple of weeks ago, Harrison Butker made headlines for his comments about motherhood, women's vocation, and LGBTQIA+ folks in a commencement speech. Aside from the misogyny and transphobia, here's another problem: Why wasn't Kaepernick given the same grace? Regarding Butker, the NFL has either become silent or given statements that distance themselves from the issue. Kaepernick, meanwhile, was blackballed from the league. For a PEACEFUL protest. He didn't burn the flag, he didn't vandalize it, he didn't destroy any property. Kaepernick didn't go full Samuel L Jackson on live TV. Kapernick didn't even say he hated America. The man simply knelt on the biggest stage to raise awareness of the racism Black and other racially marginalized people face. And that was still too much. That was a painful reminder that no form of protest is acceptable for racists. The NFL, like much of America, doesn't value Black people, women, and LGBTQIA+ folks like it should. Otherwise we wouldn't be erasing Black History in our nation's schools, passing dehumanizing anti-trans laws, and still trying to close the gender wage gap. I find it funny that Butker ranted about the "tyranny of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion", but only proved the need for it by everything he's said over the past couple of weeks. #DiversityAndInclusion #Diversity #RacialEquity #Equality #AntiRacism #NFL Image description: Side by side photos of Colin Kaepernick and Harrison Butker.

THIS is why DEI work remains SUPER important. Was it the message or the messenger or both? Double standards aren’t just irritating but harmful when they take aim at communities of color. It is important we name a thing for what it is and continue this necessary conversation—we haven’t forgotten Colin Kaepernick. #theworkcontinues #beingantiracist #deimatters #endisms #deiimpacts #businessdecisions

Diversity isn’t just a buzzword; it’s a game-changer for businesses! Embracing diversity isn't just the right thing to do; it's essential for success in today's global marketplace. Diverse teams bring a wealth of perspectives, experiences, and ideas to the table, sparking creativity, innovation, and problem-solving like never before. By fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and heard, businesses can unlock new opportunities, attract top talent, and better connect with diverse customer bases. However, it's vital not to overlook the critical role of inclusion. While diversity focuses on representation, inclusion ensures that every individual feels appreciated, respected, and able to fully participate. I've observed firsthand how individuals, despite efforts to diversify, may choose to leave if they don't feel included. Creating a welcoming environment where everyone feels seen and part of the team is key to driving sustained diversity efforts and fostering an inclusive culture that goes beyond numbers. All voices deserve to be heard and represented, and that is exactly what I strive to accomplish as Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee at Neighborly?. I feel honored to be trusted to lead and educate my fellow associates to have a deeper understanding of the importance of diversity and how we move forward faster and further when driven by diverse ideas, talents, motivations, and individuals. Princess Ousley, M.B.A shares her personal story of growing up surrounded by the Black American dream in a recent powerful and inspirational Inc. Magazine article. If you are looking for insight into the power of diversity and why representation matters, then I highly recommend reading this article:? https://lnkd.in/g6urkXrz From media to education to professional settings, diverse voices and perspectives enrich our experiences and empower us to dream big. Heinz: Beans Means Bias? A Shocking Advert in 2024 I'm utterly disappointed by this Heinz advert. "Beans Means Heinz" shouldn't mean "Heinz Means Racism." I think Heinz needs to Ketch Up. Seriously, who approved this? Did anyone in that room consider how this harmful imagery impacts their customers, especially during Black History Month when we're supposed to be reclaiming our narratives? This ad perpetuates damaging stereotypes: 1. Absent Black Fathers: It reinforces the harmful narrative of single-parent Black families, completely erasing the Black father. 2. “Unkempt" Black Women: The Black woman is depicted as messy, playing into harmful biases. As a Black woman who happens to come from a single-parent household, I can tell you this isn't the representation we need. 3. White vs. Black Families: The stark contrast between the white, two-parent family and the Black, single-parent family reinforces harmful stereotypes. This isn't just about representation; it's about perpetuating narratives that fuel bias and discrimination. Heinz, this is unacceptable in 2024. It's not just about selling beans; it's about social responsibility. Where's the diversity? Let's see: Black families together. Single-parent white families. Gay couples, transgender parents. Families with disabilities. Families facing socioeconomic challenges. There are so many ways to authentically portray diverse families. This isn't it. Need a Different Perspective? If your organisation needs help with inclusion, reach out to AVI2I. We're here to help you get it right. We're all about action. No endless meetings. We'll work with you to create positive change from the get-go. Do you need help with this, Kraft Heinz? P.S. I don't care if this is based on a "true story." There are other true stories that deserve the spotlight – stories with positive narratives. #Heinz #RepresentationMatters #Stereotypes #Bias #Accountability #DoBetter #BlackHistoryMonth

Sharing! Sometimes you can be involved for so long that you don’t appreciate the change until you step back and take the time to really see the big picture. Below is where I started October 2021 to where I am now. In the past three years I have learned a lot about people and myself. I have learned how easy it is to push Black women out of the workplace, how friends will betray you, and how greed/apathy/and discrimination can double the cost of a real estate development construction project. I have also learned there are some amazing people in and outside of Detroit I have never met that advocated for me and my Kornr Store project. I didn’t have to chase them down, spend hours filling out an application, creating a pitchdeck or convince them of my value or my purpose. They saw the mission and simply helped. Over the past three years, I have also learned more about me and my abilities by allowing myself to be in new and sometimes uncomfortable places. But for me, the bigger picture is to do good and to be better. And, three years after purchasing and rehabing a long vacant, +100 year old neighborhood market, rebranded as Kornr Store, I am a better human, friend/wife/mom and developer. #kornrstore #kornrstoretheneighborhoodmarket #purpose #detroitdevelopment #blackwomandeveloper #fooddesert #resilience #somethinggood #doinggood
