The core foundation of sustainability is to constantly move towards minimal impact on environment, at StrandPly with S-OSB we are committed to our purpose, our people and our planet! Made from plantation timber (home-grown eucalyptus trees), that grows fast & strong, the supply is zero dependent on forest timber, and in turn, helps local communities as farmers grow them purely for this purpose. The structure further enables nothing from the process goes for a waste, as the larger as well as the smallest powder is utilised in making the layers & surface of S-OSB. Regarded as the most sustainable panel today in the industry, it’s time to make the switch to S-OSB. #GreenYesterday #GreenToday #GreenTomorrow #SustainablePanels #SustainableWood #AgroWood #NoForestryTimber #HomeGrownTimber

Navigating cautiously through the flooded roads around Kirkby Malzeard on my way to a sustainability meeting at the Swinton Estate in North Yorkshire really brought home the urgency of tackling climate change. Mark Cunliffe-Lister (Earl Swinton) has been hosting these gatherings for several years now, and I find them invaluable for considering how to address climate change and sustainability. Having dedicated my past four years to hydrogen, and the four years prior to that to water treatment, it's easy to become like a frog in a well, thinking that the visible world is all there is. It's fascinating to sit down with people exploring other aspects of sustainability—from sausage makers to rural landscape managers, and from garden centre owners to quarrying companies—but what did we learn? The first takeaway is that while each of us focuses on sustainability as it relates to our own businesses, they're actually interconnected. The food industry, for example, needs energy and transport—areas where hydrogen might help with decarbonization—but also requires sustainable packaging to avoid upcoming plastic packaging taxes, as well as methods for recycling or disposing of sustainable packaging that currently ends up in landfills. In a supply chain that starts with animal feed and goes through land management, biodiversity, and drainage to the finished product on the plate, there are numerous opportunities to improve sustainability. Unfortunately, most of these are outside the control of the businesses striving to make a positive impact. Joined-up policy making was another issue. In the hydrogen and energy sector, we're all too aware of how setting targets without considering infrastructure causes problems, and the same applies in the agricultural sector. Since Brexit, policy making has become fragmented, leaving farmers without real clarity and at risk of being pulled in different directions by competing policies. Should we grow food or produce energy? On a positive note, there was a lot of information sharing about the first steps toward sustainability. Some people were veterans, others newcomers, and forums like this help us all understand how much we don't know and leverage the experience of others who are further along the sustainability journey. #Sustainability #ClimateChange #SustainableBusiness #LandManagement

Small Discovery, Big Possibilities – How I witnessed Sustainability in Action. I discovered a world of possibilities for sustainable living across urban, rural, and industrial landscapes. This beautifully planned sustainability solution organisation does everything from empowering villagers with sustainable farming techniques to providing home management techniques that convert peels and waste food into compost. I witnessed firsthand the magic of transforming waste into compost in just 24 hours and I believe that through this, the potential for a greener future is immense. The industrial visit was another eye-opener! A net-zero facility created through energy, water and waste management created an environment that was at least 4 degrees cooler inside than outside, even on a hot afternoon, which is a testament to innovative energy and water management. They have also implemented methods to improve work efficiency, people management, grey water management and much more. What really fascinated me was how innovative techniques converted wasteland with gravel and stones into an orchard with fruit trees. Imagine barren land into a thriving orchard? Pure magic! ???? It’s time to create a more sustainable world together! #sustainability #ecofriendly #greenliving #urbanfarming #industrialinnovation

Self-Reliant Communities: Building a Sustainable Future Self-reliant communities are those that strive to meet their own needs with minimal reliance on external resources. These communities prioritize local production, renewable energy, and sustainable living practices, aiming to achieve a level of self-sufficiency that supports long-term resilience and well-being. In self-reliant communities, food is often grown locally through methods like permaculture, organic farming, and community gardens, reducing the need for transported goods and supporting food security. Renewable energy sources such as solar and wind power are harnessed to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, while water is conserved and reused through rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems. The concept also includes building materials and techniques that utilize local resources and minimize environmental impact. For instance, natural building materials like earth, straw, and bamboo are often used, and structures are designed to be energy-efficient and adaptable to local climate conditions. Creating self-reliant communities is not just about sustainability; it’s also about fostering strong social bonds and local economies. By sharing resources, skills, and knowledge, residents can build a sense of community that supports collective well-being. To learn more about how we are applying these principles at our self-sustainable city project, read our blog articles here https://lnkd.in/gU3nFcHh #SelfReliantCommunities #SustainableLiving #Permaculture #RenewableEnergy #LocalEconomy #SustainableDevelopment #GreenLiving

A #permaculture community would be a sustainable, self-sufficient, and resilient environment where people live in harmony with nature. It would feature eco-friendly homes, organic gardens, renewable energy sources, and collaborative decision-making processes. The community would focus on principles like caring for the earth, people, and fair sharing of resources. Food production would be local, using regenerative agricultural practices, and waste would be minimized through composting and recycling. Socially, the community would emphasize education, shared responsibilities, and a strong connection to the land and each other. https://lnkd.in/dR8C8Rby #Permaculture #SustainableLiving #Ecovillages #HealthyLifestyle Ranjeeta Subedi

Healthy soil is the foundation of life, supporting nutrient-rich crops, carbon sequestration, water management, and biodiversity. It also filters pollutants, contributing to a healthier environment. But how does this relate to EV financing? Sustainable agriculture and EVs both aim to reduce environmental impact. By promoting and financing EVs, we support a holistic approach to sustainability, from the soil to the roads. Investing in green initiatives like healthy soil practices and EVs offers economic benefits, such as lower operating costs and long-term savings. At YELOW GREEN, we’re committed to supporting these initiatives, making sustainable transportation and agriculture more accessible. Together, we can build a future where our soil is as healthy as the vehicles we drive. #Sustainability #HealthySoil #EVFinancing #GreenInitiatives #EnvironmentalStewardship
