??Tip: Don't make too many commitments in a single attempt! We often apprise with certain Internship opportunities, certificate courses, or even the conferences via online portals or LinkedIn, etc. Try to indulged in them but do not make it complex. Ensure that you are doing few things but with rich quality and priority. If you are doing simultaneous internships, or planning for the moot court competitions between your prior commitments. Please avoid it. Choose the date of doing anything in a way it doesn't clash with your already already fixed plans. Problem doesn't lies in participation. Problem lies in overlapping the commitments. Also, try to prioritize the opportunities based on your interest area. It will help you to see the clear picture of your objectives amd will maintain the clarity. Most colleges teach their students to pour their energy into choosing the right major, joining the right clubs, and landing prestigious internships. While these are valuable, they’re not the most important steps to take for landing your first job or building your career. I was a biology & chemistry double major. I joined all the science clubs and poured my soul into an unpaid internship. I can honestly say none of those helped me build a career in analytics! So if choosing the right major and landing the prestigious internship aren’t the most important, what should you do in college that will actually set you apart? Start building meaningful connections and shore up your soft skills. Building a network with professors, peers, and professionals will open doors you never knew existed. Soft skills such as the ability to communicate effectively is a surer bet to landing a job. Learning how to solve problems and adapt to new situations will better prepare you for a lifetime of professional growth. Your career will likely span 30-40 years, so focus on what will yield long-term results. The sooner you learn soft skills, the more time you’ll have to practice and hone those skills. The sooner you build your professional network, the more doors will open for you. Here is a two-step process to take action today: - Pick 1-2 soft skills you want to learn. Then find opportunities where you can practice those skills regularly. Consider volunteering for leadership roles, taking an improv class, or hosting game nights with your dorm mates. - Build your IRL and online network. Stay in touch with those you meet in person (through your own activities and organized networking events), and connect with other professionals on LinkedIn. Don’t let the pressure of college blind you to the skills that matter most. Start now, because the best investment you can make is in yourself.

Going to a top tier college has its benefits. But here's the thing: Any student from any campus can get any job. As long as you... → gain relevant skills and experiences → build relevant connections → learn to tell your story ... you will have your shot. So start building the foundation. (Some ideas below) ? Volunteer ? Study abroad ? Find an internship ? Start a side hustle ? Find an externship ? Attend conferences ? Get an on campus job ? Use campus resources ? Complete certifications ? Network with professors ? Become a student leader ? Seek out alumni mentors ? Join student organizations ? Participate in case competitions ? Conduct informational interviews The opportunities are ample on EVERY campus. And you get to decide if you take advantage of them. The name of your institution doesn’t determine whether you get hired. Your ability to contribute value through skills and ideas does. So stop worrying about the ranking of your university. And start taking advantage of the opportunities you have access to.

Examinations?? As the exam season of many government universities and colleges are approaching, I had a thought which was roaming around my mind from the second semester. While we spend hours and hours trying to complete the syllabus and understand everything just a few days before the examination, do you think that it’s helpful? I don’t blame the students or the faculty for such a situation but what happens is that our society has still that mentality of- marks nahi aaye? Band krro yeh society ka kaam, internships sai kya fayda hoga padhoge nahi toh?. I mean honestly 1 mahine padhkr waise bhi koi fayda nahi hora hai cause we don’t remember anything that we studied post the examinations. Same old syllabus, same old pattern of checking papers and the same old mentality.I mean what’s the deal ki jitne pages likhoge utne marks milenge? Seriously? There is no sense of scoring marks like this. Government colleges might have the best rankings and best environment but what our current generation needs is practicality, which is something that needs to be focused on. Practical work experience, real life projects, presentations, competitions these are the things which have helped people shape their overall personality, gain exposure and maybe crack placements. Very encouraging findings from a joint research study conducted by Institute of International Education and CIEE Council on International Educational Exchange on global internship’s impact on career readiness. Key highlights: ?? Global internships are bridging gaps in representation, with 48% of participants identifying as students of color, compared to 31% in traditional study-abroad programs. Additionally, 64% of global interns hail from underrepresented backgrounds, such as first-generation college students. ?? Interns report significant growth in intrapersonal, cognitive, and interpersonal skills: 86% saw improved intercultural competencies. 85% enhanced their flexibility and adaptability. ?? Global internships aren’t just educational—they’re strategic: 44% of participants benefited from networking events. 25% secured roles at their host organizations post-internship. ?? For 75% of alumni, the internship was pivotal in securing their first full-time job. A remarkable 85% highlighted these experiences in their CVs and professional profiles.
